@@sillyboy4063 It's because 2 is a very depressing movie. Not that it's a bad thing, the movie is great, but try picking between 2 different movies, like The Wolverine and Logan, and see which one you'll be able to rewatch more times. I can watch 1 and 3 at any moment and I know I'll have a fun time, in 2 I can only watch the parts without Spidey because the story is all focused on Peter so I find the action boring in comparison, and even then it's more of a sad time because all you see is him suffering. The only thing that bothers me in the trilogy is how much is focused around MJ, which it's ok, the first movie opens up saying it was all about her, but I personally don't find it very entertaining after the first watch.

I saw this in theatres when I was 5 and this movie was my first introduction to Spider-man (who from that point became my favourite superhero and got me OBSESSED with him) so it will always hold a special place in my heart and is still one of my favourite movies to this day. Clearly this movie is dated in regards to quite a few things nowadays such as cgi and costumes but overall I still think this movie holds up 17 years later. It even does some things better than superhero movies nowadays, one of those being action. In this movie you can clearly see Peter Parker struggle physically in fights, get injured, and the action scenes are just so tense in this film and the sequel (as Stuckmann said when he reviewed it, ‘you can feel the sweat’). Whereas in Homecoming (which I really like) the action is basically just cgi and not as tense. As you legends mentioned, this film is a very pure comic to film adaptation and to me is a great origin story for this character. There is so much I love about this movie, the cast, the emotional journey Peter takes, the action, and just Spider-man in general. This was a warm welcome to the character for me and even though Tom Holland nails it nowadays, Tobey Maguire and his performance helped shape me into the person I am today. I fucking love this movie!! 🤟🏼🕸

Cameron, I stand by my response, and my opinion. Haven Elric called them the holy trilogy and they are untouchable. I disagreed and you quote me for stating my opinion. He never responded but you defended him for some reason. I didn't say the Amazing Spider-Man duology is "untouchable". I like them, I prefer Andrew Gafield as Spider-Man, and I think Marc Webb did the best he could having directed them .

@@Tekkaman1994 Lol dude I was just pointing out how weird it is to go from "you must be another Raimi fanboy, the films aren't even good anymore, etc." To "you have your opinion and I have mine". Just a weird transition. Honestly I'm not even talking about the Spiderman thing although, I am indeed a fanboy of Raimi, I still love Holland. Hearing about an andrew garfield fan seems like a certainly more rare occasion compared to a Maguire fan or a mcu fan, but it's a welcome one because I think acting wise all three held up, especially looking back at Maguire's acting in the first two now, and honestly for Holland things have been nothing but net in regards to ratings

ReportThemAll In some cases yes. But in spirit it is still the closest to Steve Ditkos original vision. It got the character mostly right, his suit is still the best looking to this day and it mostly nails the supporting cast - which are as important as Spider-Man himself. Just because you have the webshooters and the quips (which isn’t that big of a deal if you read the original run, he says some insults to distracts his enemies and even himself but not trying to be a stand-up comedian like Garfield) doesn’t mean it will be accurate - just look at the MCU, it’s a horrible depiction of Spider-Man. His age is correct and he made his webshooters... but that’s it. In terms of characterization it’s way off (has friends, faces no real trouble, no reprocussions, no stakes, gets help all the time, too much tech) and his supporting cast is not even close to accurate. Hot May? Nerd Flash? Tony Stark Step-Dad? Jesus. Raimis movies are not perfect, but they are still the best live-action Spidey flicks.
