4 and 5 should be buried like "female ghostbuster" , they were shitty and then using a photo model to portray a teen average looking kid was ridicules , but with the 6th and 7th were back to good again, he is not good looking, he looks like a kid and they focused on that he is also kind of a genius. Then again they fucked up with too much political race diversity in 6th and 7th, I would like to enter a random school class in usa and see 17 different color and races in 1 class...................

The first film had its corny moments, but it's still a fun movie that I loved ever since I was 9. Spider-Man 2 is easily the best out of all the films. I have a like/hate relationship with Spider-Man 3. I know it's usually "love/hate" but I think that would be giving the film too much credit.

@@sillyboy4063 It's because 2 is a very depressing movie. Not that it's a bad thing, the movie is great, but try picking between 2 different movies, like The Wolverine and Logan, and see which one you'll be able to rewatch more times. I can watch 1 and 3 at any moment and I know I'll have a fun time, in 2 I can only watch the parts without Spidey because the story is all focused on Peter so I find the action boring in comparison, and even then it's more of a sad time because all you see is him suffering. The only thing that bothers me in the trilogy is how much is focused around MJ, which it's ok, the first movie opens up saying it was all about her, but I personally don't find it very entertaining after the first watch.

@@MaximumMadnessStixon I definitely think they're well suited for comic book films, and maybe some other dramatic action films, large in scale. What I miss more in a more all-encompassing sense, are theme song intros. I know some can come off a bit cheesy, but they often put a great, nostalgic stamp on a show, and can be wonderfully catchy and defining of a show's tone.

I read an article on a geek website, that was about Tobey Miguire's behavior during filming on Spider-Man 1. He was demanding and mean to the extras and production assistants, and cast too(as you stated EVERYONE) It's too bad he's a jerk when playing emotionally vulnerable man boys.

I saw this in theatres when I was 5 and this movie was my first introduction to Spider-man (who from that point became my favourite superhero and got me OBSESSED with him) so it will always hold a special place in my heart and is still one of my favourite movies to this day. Clearly this movie is dated in regards to quite a few things nowadays such as cgi and costumes but overall I still think this movie holds up 17 years later. It even does some things better than superhero movies nowadays, one of those being action. In this movie you can clearly see Peter Parker struggle physically in fights, get injured, and the action scenes are just so tense in this film and the sequel (as Stuckmann said when he reviewed it, ‘you can feel the sweat’). Whereas in Homecoming (which I really like) the action is basically just cgi and not as tense. As you legends mentioned, this film is a very pure comic to film adaptation and to me is a great origin story for this character. There is so much I love about this movie, the cast, the emotional journey Peter takes, the action, and just Spider-man in general. This was a warm welcome to the character for me and even though Tom Holland nails it nowadays, Tobey Maguire and his performance helped shape me into the person I am today. I fucking love this movie!! 🤟🏼🕸

Just a weird transition. Honestly I'm not even talking about the Spiderman thing although, I am indeed a fanboy of Raimi, I still love Holland. Hearing about an andrew garfield fan seems like a certainly more rare occasion compared to a Maguire fan or a mcu fan, but it's a welcome one because I think acting wise all three held up, especially looking back at Maguire's acting in the first two now, and honestly for Holland things have been nothing but net in regards to ratings

ReportThemAll In some cases yes. But in spirit it is still the closest to Steve Ditkos original vision. It got the character mostly right, his suit is still the best looking to this day and it mostly nails the supporting cast - which are as important as Spider-Man himself. Just because you have the webshooters and the quips (which isn’t that big of a deal if you read the original run, he says some insults to distracts his enemies and even himself but not trying to be a stand-up comedian like Garfield) doesn’t mean it will be accurate - just look at the MCU, it’s a horrible depiction of Spider-Man. His age is correct and he made his webshooters... but that’s it. In terms of characterization it’s way off (has friends, faces no real trouble, no reprocussions, no stakes, gets help all the time, too much tech) and his supporting cast is not even close to accurate. Hot May? Nerd Flash? Tony Stark Step-Dad? Jesus. Raimis movies are not perfect, but they are still the best live-action Spidey flicks.

Just wanted to share that what made me enjoy these movies was how much it reminds me of the 90’s cartoon. And the Green Goblin’s death is exactly the same way in the comics. 🙂

Aunt May, Uncle Ben, and Jameson were spot on casting choices and I’m convinced they can never be repeated

Covering Willem Dafoe’s face in this is just as bad as covering Ryan Reynolds mouth in Xmen origins. Willem Dafoe has literally the best face. 😂😂

But he's the Green Goblin. They couldn't not give him a mask.

Byron Senior see your point. But I guarantee that Willem Dafoe only needed makeup. No mask necessary.

He already has a goblin face, like if you need to do a mask you could just make a thin mask that conforms more to his face. But having him wear a motorcycle helmet essentially is just baffling.

Spider-Man 2002 is an epic movie with incredible pacing that jumps straight out of a comic book. Sam raimi did a wonderful job and I wish he had gone on to make more Spider-Man films! I hope one day he gets to do something with Spider-Man again! Until then his trilogy will live on forever!

Even as a kid, I liked cool stuff, the OG green goblin would've been too cheesy for me had they not tweaked a few parts at least. Looking back it could've worked fairly well, though
