42:52 im confused why does 6/-4 cancel to -3/2

I’ve divided top and bottom by 2, cancelling down the 6/4 to 3/2. But I’m guessing it’s the negative sign moving from the bottom to the top that was confusing you? You can do this by multiplying top and bottom through by -1, which will switch the signs like this. Leaving a negative denominator is considered untidy!

Glad you like them! I recommend doing one paper a week - try it first yourself, and then watch the walkthrough. This will really help with mocks and more importantly the real thing!

im sorry at 43:58 why should the value equal to -1?

For two lines that are parallel, their gradients are negative reciprocals of each other, eg 1/2 and -2. If you multiply any number by its negative reciprocal you always get -1, eg 1/2 x -2 = -1.

01:33:25 why is it 289 and not 239?

I think it's just a transcription error from the line above. I use 239 on the calculator, so the answer will have come out correct.
