Thank you, Tyler Edmonds, for sharing your story with us and for giving advice on how to protect other children from the system who find themselves in your shoes. (Edited to add information.) Advice such as: children should always have an attorney when talking to police and that every part of the investigative interview should be filmed to protect both parties.

Your comment is very hypocritical, because when it's a black child in a situation like this he's a monster and he's guilty, as well as to say he's a man. And you have a little unwashed cave-dwelling animal, who admitted he did it, but he's a child. It's so pathetic oh, that was all of your so-called children the most dangerous predators on this planet.

A 13 year old boy looks up to older siblings. That she threw her brother under the bus as soon as the murder was committed was just sick. The father, though, should have gone straight to the authorities when his daughter said "life insurance." He failed both his kids.

If I had a dollar for every time someone said, "I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard that so and so..." It's non stop, and no one ever apologizes when they're wrong. A lot of times, they refuse to believe they were wrong, even when there's plenty of evidence that they were. Sorry, I ended up posting a rant. I grew up in a small town. I live here but I’m 2 hours away and I never heard of this case. You know us southern girls will call out women like her as white trash! I love the fact that the woman called her white trash! Check out the story of a wife in Utah, Kouri Richins, who murdered her successful husband Eric with fentanyl. He never used drugs. A very successful young man who owned a masonry business with his best friend. Kouri was working at Home Depot at the checkout when they met. She wanted Eric to buy her a 20,000 square foot home even though they had a beautiful 1 million dollar home. After she murdered him, thinking she was getting his millions, she bought that home the day after he died and had the audacity to have a party there. They had 3 precious sons and Eric was a great husband and father. She even wrote a book for grieving young children who loses a parent. And went on morning shows in Utah. But she was in court yesterday, I’m not sure when trial starts but the video yesterday is on this channel. Greed and Murder is her sin! She even tried to poison him when they went to Greece on vacation!! She thought she was getting his multi millions but what she didn’t know is he had gotten suspicious, went to his attorney and changed his Will so his sister Katie would get his millions so she is raising his 3 sons. Kouri had started stealing thousands from his business accounts immediately after they were married and having many affairs.

What a shocking and deeply affecting story. I'm so glad Tyler's gamble to clear his name entirely, the second time, paid off - thanks to his own belief in himself and also to his lawyer Jim Waide's tenacious fight to prove his innocence. Both can account for themselves on the day of Judgement. Horrifying to hear about the "expert" who gave such flawed information in this and other cases. I hope he rots in he!!. Tyler makes such an important point about minors not being questioned by police without a lawyer present. When I thought about it, it's obvious that it's ALWAYS the most vulnerable and impaired people who don't know to ask for a lawyer - under 18s and very young adults, the mentally impaired etc. Anyone who obviously falls into any of these categories should automatically be given legal representation. It's spine-chilling to think how many other Tylers are languishing in the prison system.

I haven't heard of the case, but if it's anything like this one, he deserves a good lawyer and a new trial. The thing that got me towards the end is when he said that they only turned the video camera on at the end of the interrogation. That's not right at all. At 13, I wouldn't have been able to withstand the pressure. I would have been scared to death. He looked like such a sweet kid in the video, and the way his mom talked to him made it clear that she couldn't believe he could ever do something like that. I'm so happy that he was set free, but he has to have some serious trauma from being stuck in the worst prison for juveniles in the state. As a mom, this really made me sad. And angry 😡

It's amazing that he didn't give up. With some attorneys, it's about winning, but for this one, it was about justice.

I definitely don't think his confession was false, but I do believe he was manipulated by his sister.
