I love your tutorials and have been spending some time in the CJ4. I think on one of these overviews you mentioned that you just set max speed or near it during the cruise. While playing with some of my last flights I started looking at the Fuel page and noticed that minor tweaks of the power can greatly influence your fuel usage and most important, your range and time to reserves. Backing off just a bit allowed me to make a destination without having to do a mid-air refuling. Thanks for you vids!

This video and your CRJ tutorials have been the resource I learned most of my knowledge about these planes from. I can now comfortably fly them on vatsim, knowing I can deal with holds, know how to set them up etc. I have to thank you 1000x and would honestly appreciate another one for the A32NX or even the DC-6 from PMDG (although that could be lengthy). Yes, there are many A32NX tutorials, but nothing comes close to these ones you made for the CJ4 and CRJ.

I'm glad you've found them useful! I'm hoping to do tutorials like this for the Fenix A320 when it comes out, and for the PMDG 737. Hi guys. Nice tutorial. Very well done. If I may I have a few things I saw in the takeoff fase that can be done different to make it more easy. Normally on the ground with the pro-line 21 or fusion system you can arm Nav mode on the ground. You should see that HDG mode automatically goes green with nav in white (arm) mode. This way when crossing between 200 and 230ft nav will automatically goed to the arm/nav mode after takeoff. Also there was a complaint you told about the amount of forward trim you need after takeoff. This is correct and the real plane does this also. This is because your rotation speed is around for example 110kts and thereafter you speed up in seconds to 200kts due to the 10 degrees of pitch. This is reached in many type ratings in the ga world. But unfortunately is completely a wrong and dangerous way of doing things. Both the FAA and other CAA’s require operators and pilots to fly a certain performance profile in the takeoff segments. (Segments 1 to 4) This assures obstacle clearances and the proper performance of you losse one of your engines for example. The profile flow should be after takeoff a climb to acceleration altitude (usually between 1000AGL and 1500AGL for this class of aircraft, some have 400ft). At a speed of V2 +10 to 20 kts. Thereafter you accelerate to any procedure (sid) speed limitation or max 250 kts or min clean till FL100. Then there are 2 variants of noice abatement. Number 1 being: V2 + 10 to 20 till 3000AGL. At 1500AGL you set climb power. Then accelerate to procedure max speed, or max 250 kts/min clean speed and clean up the aircraft after accelerating when passing 1500AGL. Number 2 being: V2 +10 to 20 till 1500AGL then seed up to procedure max speed, or max 250/min clean while cleaning up. When aircraft is clean set climb power. The use of either one of these depends on local requirements and can usually be found in the airport briefing pages of the charts. If you don’t follow this way of flying and just keep for example 8 or 10 degrees pitch. You will never fulfill performance requirements. You don’t fulfill noice restrictions and the aircraft can get out of hand with flap and other over speeds. And also as you notice require huge amounts of trimming. Then I noticed a possible programming error in the avionics. Normally when the aircraft reaches higher spreads the bank required to intercept tracking or a radials is half back of let’s say around 15 degrees. The fms should take into account the turn required and therefore should start to turn earlier to make it. Also when is intercepting a certain track let’s say from the right it does not first turn towards the track and thereafter banks the other way to intercept. It should keep its selected heading and then make 1 turn to intercept taking into account the current speeds and therefore the required turn rate and bank. I hope this can help you to master this aircraft and many other high performance jets. Regards, Robin

Outstanding tutorial! I'd also like to add...if using GPU to start, the ground personnel would love to have you start the opposite engine first, then disconnect GPU and then the 2nd. What I've always wanted to know is what the passenger safety button is for? Also, the landing pulse lights... Aren't they supposed to be alternating, not both synced? Pro tip... Every time you change course, sync your heading bug! It's a flight test failure item. Keeps your heading available in case of nav failure where you won't get a surprise turn.
@FilbertFlies3 жыл бұрын
I think the passenger safety button is some sort of 'turn off electronic devices sign' button. I can't remember where I heard this, or vouch for its accuracy, but it's firmly embedded in my brain!
