Hey, thanks for the video. I’ve been underwhelmed so far by this release. MSFS 2020 was so impressive, despite the bugs and limitations next to xplane from a flight dynamics perspective at launch, the immersion leap was huge. 2024 however feels like a buggy as hell MSFS with marginal graphics enhancement, and a career mode we didn’t ask for. I look forward to what the next 12 months brings, but as a pre-order enthusiast I sadly have buyers remorse.

I spent about 6 hours trying to get my TBV1 set up again this weekend on the A321. Managed to get everything mostly how I wanted it, then took a flight from KCOS to KSLC in it. The elevation data in KCOS was horrible. Runways weren't flat, taxiway's had huge valleys and dips, but I did manage to get up. Then I landed in KSLC and none of the gates were attached to the buildings, the jetways were all just clustered in a giant circle and the sim crashed before I could park. The flight models seem nice but it's kind of rough at the moment. I also tried to load into KDEN but if you have the FB Scenery, you can't and it get's stuck trying to load the default handcrafted one on top of the FB airport. You can't delete the default one too so that creates a bit of an issue. I don't think MSFS24 was quite ready to go, and needed another month or two in the oven but we'll see where it goes.

@@matthewf5899 sadly that's all server problems and streaming the data biting us hard! When they open the marketplace too we'll be able to delete the "handcrafted" scenery which should be in a week or two hopefully

While flying hard curves it always forces me back to a lower bank angle It constantly jerks in the rolling movements and it doesn't run smoothly even though when I am taking out the thrust and force it to crash it automatically pulls in full thrust and pulls up automatically and I can't get a higher aoa than 25. And yes all support systems are off.

@@martenmichaelis2028 I've found similar behaviour - it's a terrible flight model in the A400M I feel, very arcadey and not at all fluid in some more sporty circumstances (which this is somewhat specialized for)

I have gone back to 2020. The controls are a mess, the bugs and crashes are insane and when it is working... it just feels... off.

Had a few short hops so far, no landings yet. The controls set up is an absolute mess, the walk around is something I haven't figured out yet how to skip. Setting up 3 screens is nearly impossible because it keeps defaulting to an external view when you go to the settings menu. There is a LOOOOOOOONNNG way to go.

I have set up my three screens quite reasonably but it is a LOT of work for the reason you describe as it will ONLY let you see an ultra wide view but not a cockpit. Small example, but why don’t they test these things.

Nice vid as ever. I had a day of not getting to the main screen on MSFS2024 followed by three days of it jumping and stuttering so much it was unusable. But yesterday, voila, suddenly it all happened and started looking like the real deal. I’m still setting up controls and camera views (quite hard) but the look of even the scenery around airports make it look VERY promising. Certainly the colours are much more natural and even my three screens seem to match better than they did in MSFS2020. I don’t how that’s happened but it’s a vast jump in quality in itself. Now starting to port some stuff over and Gatwick looked pretty good last night when I tried it. Early days but I’m beginning to think the game is worth the candle.

Managed to get in a few times using a VPN set to USA servers. Performance is... ok for the most part. But some massive stutters when looking around in the cockpit which makes the sim very hard to control at times. Scenery has looked pretty good for me so far with not too much of an issue with load times, but I've so far restricted all my flights to north Wales and a little bit of Iceland, so not massive photogrammetry areas. On the plus side, my scenery mods for Snowdonia (to remove the trees on the mountains), Dolbadarn and Dolwyddelan Castles and Llanddwyn Island have all worked pretty well in the new sim without any need for updates. Not perfect as the terrain is slightly different and the ground textures seem a little offset. But they do work.

what's your download speed, I think that's more important than hardware spec with this sim. I have an RTX 4090 and my stuttering is because my internet is max 30 meg

Tried it out again after the last few updates from MSFS support. Back to MSFS2020 and another refund. I’ll try again when the mess is sorted.

Based in the UK, been able to do some local flights now, but having a frequent issue where I get no aircraft sounds whatsoever, only ambient wind noise, etc. Have seen others with the same issue so am hoping it is something MS will be able to resolve soon. I would love to just be able to download the default aircraft and airports onto my PC, I've got plenty of storage but mediocre internet and it is very frustrating seeing PC resources sitting unused whilst the sim struggles to load scenery and even cockpits.

If you delete aircraft it will do a fresh install and fix audio bug C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.Limitless_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState\StreamedPackages for ms store

Delete the Stream packages folder from within your MSFS2024 Local State folder then load the sim, should fix it

That doesn't sound loud enough. I've flown in the back of AN A400 and it's super loud even with noise cancelling headphones on.

Runs ok for me on Xbox X but can't enjoy it until they fix the mouse issues for Xbox. Can't use the mouse in the cockpit so no fun at all time being.

I'm stuck in the zero% club and happy to be here. 2024 is a money gouge by MS and when they abandon FS, and they will, people will be stuck with losing a shed full of money in add ons. Not at all convinced about their commitment.

looks good but I dont like arcade default aircraft and cloud use is bad you realy need server who can handle all users. and we know server come have issues like we still have sometimes in msfs 202,0 now it come not be better in 2024, if we are not availible have it on harddrive instead of cloud, and cache is not good always use, at new driver or new version of airports or any updates in sim its need be deleted and download it again

The product is half baked !! VNAV does not work consistently and neither does flying an ILS approach. Very disappointing!!! Basically just eye candy
