Fantastic laptop. I think heating is the only concerning thing here which is normal for gaming laptops. When it overheats you can check the thermal paste, or update your bios for the fans to work properly. There are several things you can do to reduce the heating temperatures. Overall this is the best out there.

check your laptop's site and u will find it there in the device and drivers, it is easy to update as installing a program...

Hi sorry for the late reply Anthony, no issues with the thermals internally but externally the left palm rest gets relatively hot thats my only complaint, and i've had it for 2 months.:)), no problems over performance so far.:))

Bloatware shouldn't be an issue in 2016. My MSI laptop didn't have much other than the MSI fluff. Thankfully it came Norton free.

This is why they are now selling LAPTOPS with THUNDERBOLT connectors, you can use an EXTERNAL GPU box for $400 and put ANY Graphics card inside you want. It solves the heating problems keeping the GPU seperately. These have been out for years on the MAC and used to be available on the PC laptops a long time ago but nobody gave a damn about Laptops back then.

I got an Acer Aspire V Nitro with the same GTX 960m GPU and a 4th gen i7 for 700.00 on Newegg. It's not an MSI but I think it's an easy trade off considering the huge difference in price.

I have an MSI GE70 (I think) and for $AUD2000 it was the best value gaming laptop that was actually designed for gaming. The cooling is good but even with the best cooling I have seen in a laptop out of the box. The only time I got a hot CPU/GPU is when playing The Witcher 3. Other than that it doesn't get much hotter than any regular laptop does when doing word processing.

Mostly gaming for LANs and the like. I do take it with me for editing photos. Its kind of heavy for that but the SSD and 8GB RAM sure helps.

Great media/gaming laptop, can handle video editing software(extra 8gb ram is recommended) and game. When doing heavy cpu and gpu tasks is heating up keyboard panel to level that burn your fingers witch is annoying when you gaming. Great for esport games, cam run new AAA on low settings in 1080p if want better details you need to lower resolution to 900, 720p. It's more like love and hate relationship with this product. If you accept its pros and cons you will be happy with purchase.

Yes it is. First you need to unscrew optical drive and take it out as there are three screws hidden underneath. Then unscrew rest of screws, take off bottom panel and you can see all of components. Straight forward from this point just insert ram stick in port, check ram in bios and put everything back together. Maybe 10 minutes job.

I need some advice. I recently bought this laptop, it has all the specs for sims 3, but when I play it it will hit 90 odd c. This is with a cooling pad and the fans turned on full. I need some advice because I can't keep playing it at this temp. Any advice would be great, thank you!

ElegantSlaughter I got thermal problem with mine too. I changed thermal paste, thermal pads and lower cpu power to 80%. Temps while gaming are in high 60 to high 70 on cpu and mid 60 to low 70 on gpu.

I have the Apache pro-004 version and I never got the cpu higher then 77c and that was rare. While playing the Witcher 3 in medium setting i got almost 40fps while dipping to just below 30fps but only for a few seconds. However 2 months in my fan starting acting up and got jammed it is currently in warranty at a shop so I'll see what happens.

Yeah, unfortunately msi gave this laptop a disc tray you'd find on a $200 computer. It shouldn't even have a DVD drive anyway. It's a good laptop, but the build was disappointing, for me at least.

Hi, could you guys help me verify this. I own a ge62 unit ( GE62 2QC running 5th core i7 with 960m) , and i think mine has problem with GPU fan, since the fan speed is clearly slower (in my opinion), due to the amounts of air come out of the GPU vents compare to CPU vents when cooler boost enable. So, any of you guys have same problem, please reply me, thank alot.
