Not gonna lie I think Matt’s assessment of the Brooklyn hipsters lifestyle as being “at Disney world their whole lives” is actually pretty deep…cus I lived there for 2 years and hated it…but that’s so true for most people. If their parents made enough money then they could literally get flown out 1st class to Brooklyn one day..:find a $12,000-$13,000 a month apartment and have their parents pay for it until they either get tired of it or just do it forever. You ever see those KZbin vids of homeless looking 24 year old “artists” on the sidewalks of Brooklyn and some dude with a camera asks how much they pay for an apartment and they all say “ah I’m not comfortable discussing that but I’ll show you…and it’s like a $28,000 a month historic brownstone with the gayest interior possible and it’s like “oh I know why your not comfortable saying it cus everyone will know your full of shit and you can’t afford that”. Just super funny to me, and true about the women…it’s like they are dressing out of a dystopian 1979. And you best BELIEVE the people calling for communism or socialism the hardest and joining Anti-Fa and all that shit are these kids….the ones with no job and a $12,000+ a month place they never pay for (I actually knew dudes with no credit cards or anything like that…just a debit card that got loaded with $20,000 a month from his dad AFTER paying rent…and that’s a true story. Crazy thing is he’d spend it and at day 26-27 he’d be calling his dad to send more to get him through the next 2-3 days. We did the math once and found out that over 12 years his dad had sent him $6.1-$6.2 million and he blew it partying in NY .Nuts.) they are so detached from reality they think everyone can choose to live like them and wonder why they don’t. They genuinely have no idea

One of the funniest experiences in retrospect I ever had: Was between jobs. I have forklift, warehouse, logistics experience. Applied for a Chemicals Operation plant, in the warehouse. willing to work my way up. The reply I got back was for an interview in Cherry Hill. Weird, that's the NJ rich area. Go to a glass tower office suite. Literally seeing the stock footage version of people in office meetings. Heard cheering, and looked to see diverse white collar people behind glass shaking hands, just like in the stock photos. Found my appointment. The reception was a white and black girl babbling about the most vapid shit ever. Hey, I'm here for an interview... "Okay, you can sit down over there!" I wanna make sure I got the right place first though... "I SAID sit DOWN over THEIR!" [literally both out of their seats point at the waiting area] The fuck? Okay chill. Sit and wait. Ring ring. One of them pick up, and all I hear: "Hello, this is x company" [heavy Indian accent] "I AM BEING RACIALLY DISCRIMINATED AGAINTS!!" "Okay, like, where are you.." "I AM ON ROOF!!" "Okay, calm down! What company do you work fo-" "I SAID I AM RACICALLY BEING DISCRIMINATED RIGHT NOW!!" "...Where are you!?" "I AM ON A ROOF RIGHT NOW!!" A little later, as I am still waiting, I see the parody of a hipster. Screams hipster, but too many scarfs, accessories, ect. Rolls in with food delivery, and I'd bet good money this was before Uber eats, that stuff. Rolls in on rollerblades, into the office. Literally coasts backwards, and ballerina replants in front of the girls. "Hi X and X, your order?" "Nah, for Y." Continue vapid conversation for a minute, and he backwards skates into a separate office area. Long story short, finally got an interview, and the guy thought I was there for a solar panel sales position. Me in Carhart clothing: "....no, not at all." We got email mixed up, or they did. What I took from that, is that rich people are aliens. Everything about the experience was off-putting from the start.
