Fun fact: this was the last ever rerun ep Sci-Fi showed before taking reruns off the air permanently. I remember vividly because I'd been searching for MST3K on TV for ages at the time and was so stoked to find out they'd been running reruns early Saturday mornings; I tuned in, laughed my ass off, and looked forward to next week, only to tune in at the same time and see no MST3K on my TV. Later found out I had the misfortune of finding out about reruns literally the last week they ever ran them. You can argue about what evil the internet may or may not have done to man, but making MST3K easily accessible has certainly made my life so much better.

It really didn't take much work. Just sit next to the VCR as the shows originally aired, carefully hitting "pause" when the commercials came on, then store the tapes for ~15 years until the advent of the VCR-to-burnable-DVD console, convert all the VHS tapes to DVD+R, then hold onto them for a few more years until I got a Mac and ripped all the DVDs, and then copied each episode one by one to a thumb drive which I took to work and uploaded from there 'cuz it was faster. So no biggie.

Can anyone else agree one of the best saving graces for this movie is Mickey? I feel like he was one of the better written characters in "The Screaming Skull", given his feelings of sadness about Marion's murder at Eric's hands, and how he likely knows Eric is the one who did it and would do it to Jenni. Sure, it was a different time, *BUT* people with developmental disabilities like Mickey (and myself) are capable of doing and knowing a lot.
@dadahyena3 жыл бұрын
Considering that Mickey was played by The Screaming Skull's director Alex Nicol I'm guessing the character may have had some personal significance to him. Long story. It has to do with how I recorded the shows, edited the commercials out, converted my VHS tapes to DVD, ripped the DVDs, then uploaded the MP4 videos. It would take a scientist to explain it, but I'm a doctor. Actually, I'm a gynecologist, but this is my lunch hour.

Admittedly, the movie did manage to nail some creepy atmospheres at certain parts, i confess I was spooked at the part where Jenny (I think?) was alone in the house and looking for the source of the screaming, and the part where the painting screamed as it was being burnt. But then the climax was so over-the-top and ridiculous I was laughing throughout it. The commentary was amazing as usual, and the sketch with skull Crow was amazing.

Dawn Darrell Samaitha I actually thought the part where Jenny finally see’s the ghost in the greenhouse was genuine scary and then they ruin it with the over the top chase.

I have watched this episode with 3 different GFs over the years. And when Eric runs off into town and Jenni stays at the creepy house with the creepy gardener out in the middle of creepy nowhere each of them has said "Yeah, right, like she would stay there by herself. Please".

Gotta love how he constantly brings up his deceased wife, constantly refers to her and reminisces and compares to her. How did he get married a second time? His new wife must have some abysmal self-esteem. XD Also gotta love the just generally terrible and melodramatic everything.

When the crazy newlyweds first ran into that clergical couple they reminded me of Rosemary's neighbor's in Rosemary's Baby. They had that hungry for anyone quality.

I have to agree with Mike & the bots - it's pretty good at creating scary atmosphere, but when it comes time to transition into actually having a plot, it just... doesn't. It's like a movie that's perpetually stuck in first gear.

Even if he does get his new wife's money, he's never going to get a hotter wife than the one he already has. Talk about throwing the baby out with the bathwater. Oh, and AAAAHHH! AAAAHHH! AAAAHHH!

Thank goodness for American International Pictures. When you add things up, they provided at least an entire season's worth of material to MST3K. 🥂, Mr. Arkoff!

Wow, Gumby! My old pal. We worked together ( was an animator) on the new series that was produce in the 1980s, the creator, Art Clokey was a good friend of mine. Gumby was a great actor, but he was bitter because he was overlooked by the Academy during Oscar time

According to the IMDB, this is the 94th best episode of the pre-Netflix era... I completely disagree, I'd argue it's somewhere between the 9th and the 4th..
