Gishath is hot trash, dude. 8 mana is ridiculous in even a ramp shell, and this deck runs next to no actual ramp, instead using cost reducers. Without a safe ramp source, he's way too volatile of an inclusion, and while he can immediately connect, you'd likely much prefer something that outright kills at 8 mana. Even if Gishath can hit for 6 and you flip 3 dinos to the field consistently, you can just play out 2 4-mana creatures and advance your tempo more consistently, on earlier turns, and drop Tyrant for the final nail in the coffin once Ripjaw and Reigsaur have tenderized the opponent.

Chandra, Torch of Defiance is a card I enjoyed extremely in testing. The ramp ability on the card leads into some extremely explosive plays, and it's a great top deck late game for card advantage. You're either pitching lands or playing gas off of her other plus one, and protecting it until ult is easy because you have a bunch of huge dinos on the board. I love the two main board, and I suggest trying them out

Hey Wedge. I saw an article picturing a deck that is (in the easiest way of explaining it) a Temur energy list that runs dinosaurs like ripjaw and regisaur and tyrant as top end but with the energy package of Refiner and cub and attune. if you can figure out such list ill be on board
@XxThomdiddyxX7 жыл бұрын
I pulled a promo Huatli, Warrior Poet in my prerelease kit, ran Naya dinosaurs and went undefeated! Dinosaurs all the way! Huatli is an absolute bomb way better than I expected looking at it from the spoilers but in limited of course it's going to be great...I'm sure it'll be just as good in the Naya Dino standard deck though.

You nailed enrage on the head. It’s versatile but the effects arnt great. I recognize this is pre rivals but Forerunner of the empire really improves enrage making every dino a raging swordstooth and even makes raptor hatchling a fantastic late card as it double triggers Forerunner
@zippity617 жыл бұрын
Started with Naya dinosaurs at prerelease sealed draft -> 4-0, won lots of packs, yay! Problem is I have no Carnage Tyrants, Huatli, or dual lands which together would run me a pretty penny to find. For those in a similar situation as mine, I've been building the deck towards mainboarding the Priest of the Wakening Sun and it is nice, with opponents often 'wasting' a costly removal spell to get rid of it. Ranging Raptors work nicely if you don't want to buy the dual lands because they'll fix the basic land for you. I have also put in a couple other big dinos like Burning Sun's Avatar and Thundering Spineback in lieu of the clearly better but $30 Carnage Tyrants. Throw in a Territorial Hammerskull and their defense collapses. I have some mix of Shining Aerosaur, Sky Terror, and Grazing Whiptail in the sideboard in case of flying shenanigans. Again, this is to budget it down a lot :D. But for the full cost deck -> would you consider sideboarding the Deathgorge Scavenger in favor of the further-ramping 3 drop Ranging Raptors? It either ramps you up to those big dinos or dissuades your opponent from attacking at all.

With the amount of tribal support Wizards R&D Team stuffed into Ixalan, a Dino deck had to happen. Well executed, that looks like alot of fun to pilot. I know abrade is cool and all but I'd trade out just one for a crash the ramparts (even over lightning strike). I'd like to see a suicide rakdos pirate deck with Sunbird's Invocation and Angrath's Marauders. Maybe no one drops, 2-3CMC creature focus like Dire Fleet Captain, Lightening-Rig Crew, Fathom Fleet Captain, Headstrong Brute and maybe Dire Fleet Walker. I also like duress so support it with Raiders Wake + Deadeye Tormentor. Topped off with a Vanquisher's Banner.

awesome mana curve of small effective dinos all the way up to the tyrant! i was curious if u tried dropping 1 each of the 2 drops and add a few Rhonas Monument? i was wondering with all the haste if the boost and trample would worth a 3 drop. my theory was with the draw u get from the raptors the extra cost reduction would pay off for cheap casting ur extra draw. thx again great deck!!

After a lot of playing I sort of want to go mono-green. Any comments? I sort of like monogreen build. Lands that come in tapped or wrong color slow me down as much as ramps from white. Regisaur might still get played using unclaimed territory and drover; but not those slow slow lands. Mono-white finishing with its Wakening Sun Avatar is also cool spin.

What about the 3 drop land enchant that gives you 2 mana of any color? Seems like an easy mana fix, esp if you can attach it to your colorless land. In the same vein, I got Unknown Shores in my prerelease box - you can spend a mana to get any mana you need in case you're drowning in plains. (Miiight not have gotten the mana balance right in my first deck. XD )

@jean-christophedancause55877 жыл бұрын
Hey Wedge! I have an issue with this decklist: you only have 2 Commune With Dinosaurs, saying that if you had more space you would include more. However, I see this card as if it were the Ancient Stirrings in the Bant Eldrazi deck, which have a full playset of this card. I play Bant Eldrazi and the Stirrings often allows me to fetch for a Smasher or the land that I was missing, I will always have 4 main deck. Commune has the same purpose in this deck, why not include 4? What do you guys think? Thanks for your answers!

@sharktrap2677 жыл бұрын
Cameron Reese bontu or remove it from his hand. We also have sacrifice effect in the black trial, 2 mana sorcery.
@cameronreese81267 жыл бұрын
Shark Trap, Bontu can only be online if I sacrifice a creature, which I am lacking in a control deck. There is hand and deck hate in the sideboard but I'm looking for a mainboard option. The trial could work but is not as useful when you cannot repeat it.
@sharktrap2677 жыл бұрын
sorry, I was speaking of Bontu's last reckoning, missed the 's at the end, my bad. the first sentence was to say that yes, bontu's & hand disruption are the only two means black has against it, then I remembered that we still had one sacrifice effect in Trial of ambition. My answer was poorly written, sorry. as for the trial, it's 1 mana cheaper than To the slaughter but is a sorcery instead of an instant. still very playable on it's own without any cartouche. the problem I see is, your opponent can and will sacrifice everything but carnage Tyrant, making ToA usefull only when Carnage tyrant is alone.
