I have the same exact thing but mine is sealed. But I'm putting mine in my extended cab F150 so I'm putting mine in a box that goes under the back seat anyways. Also the amp is small but not only does 500 watts but actually does more. It's pretty impressive.

Question- Your video convinced me to order this combo from Amazon. It arrived yesterday and I installed it. I am not pro. I watched some KZbins videos🙃. I have a question to see if you may be able to help. How should I adjust the 3 dials on the amp? Also, it was dark outside when I finished so when I turned on my headlights and played a rap song with the bass cranked up I could see my headlights dancing/dimming with the bass. Do you think a capacitor could fix this? Thank you

Your going to notice a little bit of dimming when the car is sitting at idle a capacitor will help yes

So what Amp was used? The RMS and ohms of the subs have to match the amps rating to beavle to max out on them. However lets say your amp is a 4 ohm 600w rms and you subs both had 250RMS. Yout amp could run them just fine as long as your ohms are good so do spme research. However you do not want subs thay equal a higher rms thank you amp as they willtry to pull more power so yoi will never get the quality. Last thing is make sure your amp os a class d monoblock it is much cleaner when the bass hits.

T No yea I’ve noticed that Even tho it’s said to be the 500watt amp.. I don’t know that it’s true 500 which kinda sux because MTX has always been way above their specs/CEA compliance ratings. I have some of the old MTX amps like the TC and the mxa series amps.. the new stuff is nothing like the new.. but I upgraded that turck with two 15in sundowns and four Rockville Pro series speakers.. night & day... but so was the cost.. lol

Even if the mtx amp is over rated I'm positive it's better than the boss/planet audio combos. The "1200" watt boss puts out toughly 180/200wrms. The boss riot "1500w" amp dyno test show 180wrms. Boss/planet audio are some of the worst over rated amps. Retailers rely on fact these terminators are a low wattage type amp with small motor thats fairly easy to push so 200w will push it enough to think the amp has balls. I had a 12" Polk db on a planet audio "1500" watt so 200wrms and it would shake my van decent but once step up to a decent 1000wrms or even 600wrms amp you realize your old amp had squat for power. Planet Audio and boss are the same company and several models are identical inside.

Yea your factory battery would be more than sufficient anything exceeding 500 watts RMS would require a capacitor or additional battery that amp will run close to 500 RMS you will be fine with your factory battery with that setup

I mean i guess depending on what your looking for. If your trying to shake the block well thats not what its gonna do. But if your lookimg for some good bang within the car/truck then yes id go for it. I have a big truck so the sound got lost quicker than a trunk, or hatchback, vehicle would. It would shake my mirrors a little bit. I was just looking for more than i got with that setup. Check some of my upgrade videos i put in two 15in sundowns a 5K Goliath with four 10in voice speakers with a 3K amp for that. Deff overkill but that's just what i wanted... But to sum up the MTX package for the money too. Its deff a great setup no doubt. What were you looking to put it in?

DOLO’S GARAGE nice nothing wrong with the current setup though. I always work with what I got and can afford. I got two 10” Polk MM SVC that were in a sealed enclosure with separate chambers I bought from a local kid. But I lined the inside of box with polyfill and made my own flare ports with 2” pvc using propane torch and metal bowl tuned the box to 32 hz put it on the cheap power acoustic 2500 watt amp from Walmart lmao..really 700-800 watts rms at 2 ohm. In my 68 Camaro not the best for making spl but I still hitting over 130 dB on decibel x iPhone app.. I got about $250 -$300 invested it’s clean and surprises people for sure

That sounds awesome thumper. I agree I do like this setup a lot, I’m going to be putting it in my Buick. And that’s cool you costing the inside of the box. I bought a box but was going to do it over.. it has the labyrinth ports but not the best made (says the reviews) so I was going to coat the inside of mine but don’t know what to use. And then going to add another baffle and go around the box with 3/4 MDF...

DOLO’S GARAGE I use spray adhesive and I prefer flat type of polyfill not the loose stuff because it’s easier to lay and you don’t want loose fibers going into voice coils so it’s safer it doesn’t take a lot to make a big difference I see people literally stuffing there box full of the stuff and that’s not right way to do it. Sealed boxed have there advantages.. But a ported box gives you that low-frequency down into the lower 30hz.. The box im working on is 3.5cu ft. And is tuned to 32hz... Its gonna rip my truck apart lmao.. I saw that roof flex tho on your car man.. Seems that box is hitting pretty good tho

@@dologarage6481 match your radio to the amp and get.. 3/4 volume and then for the sub= power x resistance then your voltage will be the √ of that.. and them u can set your gain with a multimeter.. that will.make a huge difference. To set just play 50/60hz tone and then plug your subs.. mine sound amazing using this formula
