It felt like he was singing it to heal our country if only for a moment, and brining people together. Very moving.

This felt like a version sung by a true American... with roots deep down in American soil. Not a 'look at me' version, trying to make the song about him. I felt every true emotion he was feeling & have never been so moved. Not since Whitney sang it.

Live versions of ~ Sometimes I Cry ~ I Was Wrong ~ Either Way~ Whiskey and You ….. there are so many!! He has only ever done 1 music video and that is to Fire Away….A must watch! His voice is truly a gift that I don’t think can be put in to one genre. Has a way of making you feel every emotion. Love your reactions! Your ear is pretty dead on

In spite of the many differences we have with each other in this great country, once in awhile comes a moment when we put those differences aside and come together as Americans. This was one them . May we all strive to nurture this moment in our hearts , put our differences aside and be Proud Americans , and be deserving of that title .

Beautiful response. Other songs to listen: I was Wrong (live) - Death Row - Barely Alive - Sometimes I cry (live) - Higher -Whiskey and You - Cold - North Dakota - and many other songs (past and present). You can't go wrong..his music is a gift to all.

Absolutely loved Chris' version of OUR anthem!! However, in my book he is number two all time. If it wasn't for this other artist then hands down, he is absolutely, without a doubt, number one!!! BUT......the undisputed #1 version of our great national anthem was performed by one of our all time great singers/performers...Ms. Whitney Houston!!!! You really need to react to her national anthem. If you loved Chris' version you will be blown away by Whitney's!!!

I am a huge Stapleton fan and I 100% agree with you. Not only was she fantastic but it was the moment in which she did it at the start of the Gulf War w terrorism threats surrounding the game. I still have the single on cassette

For me, Chris just made the number one rendition. His version is so unique and soulful he has grown men crying ... and he sang it live, unlike Whitney.
