Ali's prediction was dead on. Holmes defeated Norton in a split decision
@andrewwashington99044 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed! Dead on.. Holmes edge Norton in the exciting fight..

But notice that Ali was saying that Holmes is the young blood and a hungry younger fighter compared to Norton, the fact still stands and even Holmes acknowledges that he actually lost that fight to Norton, just like in 1976 when Norton really won against Ali. Don King always has his hand on the corrupt hand picked judge

I believe Ali is the greatest of all-time. There was only one time Ali did not make good on his promise and that was to beat Leon Spinks then unify the titles by beating Larry Holmes. Instead, Ali retired in 1979 with the RING MAGAZINE Belt (this belt can only be lost in the ring) and the WBA held a tournament for his WBA title. Listen to Ali's commentary after Holmes vs. Norton in 1978. Why couldn't you have defended against Holmes like you promised Muhammad? Why? R.I.P. 😔

It's rare for a single punch to cause this kind of damage. Much of the damage fighters suffer actually comes from sparring (where they use padded gloves). It's the sheer volume of punches that causes the damage.

i like your show and like your style originated when he was a guest on Joe Namath show in 1969 . It became redundant and stale when he kept repeating it on other talks shows even when he had the parkinsons. The media was not smart enough to realize he said that too many times on different talk shows so it became not so funny anymore.

This poor guy got beat by a bum like Leon Spinks and it was because he was waaaaaaay too old and punchy. Dudes just beat Ali's brain out since the Black Muslims bled him dry. Look at it. Norton beat Ali 3 times regardless of what the judges say. Shavers beat his ass and didnt get the decision. Same with Jimmy Young. Joe Frazier and Larry Holmes racked his brain up too. Ali won the title in 1964 over Liston. What in the world was he doing still fighting in 1980?!?!?! Muslims.....
@elvicare356 жыл бұрын
No, he took him too lightly (Even overweight, the Ali magic almost stole it in 1977) and he didn't train as hard as he should have and lose a little more weight, but HE DID in the rematch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
@user-ve5qn7zr4p5 жыл бұрын
Wtf has being a Muslim got to do with it? He only went that way coz he didn't want to be known and called by a name which was given to his family as slaves. He wanted to have that complete freedom from even the association of a name. Clay is a slave name, i reckon he would have taken on any religion but the one he had at the time. He was making a point, i think he was more interested in the progress of black people, and why shouldn't he be? He had the perfect platform to do that on and be heard, im not muslim or black but i can imagine not being allowed to eat somewhere because of my colour, as mad as it sounds its exactly what used to happen in that part of the world not so long ago. You could say he was forced into it, but at the same time he will be remembered by some idiots as a trouble maker or racist. Absolute bullshit, this man was truly brave in and out the ring. I hate terrorist and disagree with what it stands for but i can completely understand why he done what he done, I am the 1st to question a man's reason for getting the chop, Ali is definitely the exception. Proud to be a fan.
