I honestly don’t care about the changes for the Live Action Mulan, It’s still the same story, you guys should understand that the whole point of Mulan isn't about the talking comedic dragon, it’s not about the love interest and it’s not even about the songs what so ever This whole story is about Mulan who is a female character who fights and kick ass for the right reasons, she does this to save her father's life, she does this so she brings honor to her family, she does this to prove herself that she can do anything This movie is supposed to be about her, it’s one of those films that leads her up to become hero and saves her country, so i get you guys want this version to be exactly like the original Disney version, it’s still is, but sometimes, when it comes to Remakes and adaptations, it has to have changes to make it stand out on it’s own, there’s no need to keep it the same as the other version, it’s kinda pointless if they do that

Nah, see what makes this worse is knowing that in real history the Mongols actually do take over China, so Mulan just condemned millions of people to death, to top that level of bad the live action movie will have to be SO bad that it loops back around to being sort of impressive in a weird way.

Funny thing is, we actually have a good live action Mulan movie. It was made in 2009. In China. And the funniest part? The actress Disney cast for the 2020 atrocity was a REJECTED choice for that 2009 film. Disney literally used the 2009 film's leftovers.

I just find it funny that Kingdom Hearts 2 did a better Milan 2 than this. Spoiler details: So Mulan wanted to talk to the emperor to give Shang some time off due to being overworking as of late. Emperor is like no due to a giant dragon attacking. Later on the dragon attacks the emperors castle and mulan helps defeat it. Mulan asks again and the emperor is like no due to, you know, being Shang’s job but offers the compramise of giving her the same job to work with him. There, solved in like a couple of sentences, just take sora out and make that a movie

@@sweetcinnamonpnchkin the idea is that he has no real frame of reference for all the hatred, he's bascally just told 'simba's bad cause he killed scar who's super awesome' and once given actual reasons to not buy into that stuff (addmittedly yes mostly by being suddenly shipped with the first cute girl he met) he turns away from Zira's ideology. This comment will never be seen, but I was actually forced to watch this when I was younger and China actually isn’t doomed. When Mushu pretended to be the Golden Unity Dragon whatever, he said that the marriage of Mulan and Shang would secure the alliance. King Fatso tried to object but got hit by flamethrower so he shut up. It does go by reeeeeally fast though so it’s easy to miss. Hopefully someone out there gets informed by this, I suffered so you don’t have to

Yeah, I vaguely remember that when I saw it years ago. So China isn’t doomed, instead the characters get a bullshit, consequence free happy ending. Realistically though, China would be doomed if this story actually happened, so I think Doug’s interpretation is still valid.
