"ഡാം പൊട്ടുമോ?" എന്ന മലയാളിയുടെ ചോദ്യത്തിന് "കാലം" തന്നെ മറുപടി നൽകും .!!!!

POINT TO BE NOTED: This dam is constructed using limestone which has a lifespan of 1000 years. It was commonly used in Indian constructions. It was banned by British so they could sell cement in India and it gradually became a culture to use cement. Cement has a lifespan of around 100 years. Lime is also less brittle and less prone to cracking, and any cracked areas can absorb carbon dioxide and mend over time. We need to scrutinize this point..

Indeed Kallani dam constructed 1800years ago, but just have a look, how much water it stores!, if this dam breaks, even a makri wont die. but mullaperiyar stores substantial water which can kill 5 Districts, and this huge risk is for 10lakh rupees!

The situation is very risky and we have to take immediate remedial action. State Government, Tamil Nadu Government and Govt of India officials with expert people from overseas should sit together and discuss the demerits and avoid any untoward incident in the future. The full capacity of mullaperiar is 6 tmcft. Whereas the capacity of the down line dams like baby dam ( ---) and idukki dam is (92 tmcft). Assume that the full 6 tmcft water is going to idukki dam. Can't it withhold / stop the water from mullaperiar? Second thing, it will take 4-5 hours for the water from mullaperiar to idukki dam to reach. So even if the idukki dam is full, ( pl. Note that idukki dam was full in 1972 and in 2015 alone), on hearing the mullaperiar destruction, idukki dam gates can be opened and water from mu.periar can be saved, prevented/ stopped. Apart from, that so many strengthening activities, contructions have been carried out in mu.periar dam. So, so easily mu.periar will not be destroyed. So, not to fear, worry, is my opinion. When supreme court asked Kerala government what kind of pre cautionary measures you have taken to relocate the people live in the banks of mu.periar dam? Kerala replied, no nothing. Court asked, why? No answer from Kerala. Another masonry dam in the world is kallanai in tricht across cauvery. It is remaining there for 1800 years.
