Hey dude thanks a lot for the video. I'm new to stencils (done my first last weekend it's a single layer bob marley on rasta background :D) Newish to photo shop.. My next project is a comic of the joker. It seems really complicated with bridging etc and I'm kinda stuck. I'd like it to be 3-4 layers. Just wondering if you could help me out, hit me a line if you can. Found your facebook page as well. Bit of a fan. Cheers man

Anthony Aspero here is the image www.comicvine.com/forums/battles-7/the-joker-vs-kingpin-1650673/ . I have deleted background, created 4 layers, and done every thing in this video. The only thing I can't get my head around is all the bridging and islands

Great video - do you print out each individual layer? What if I wanted to apply the stencils to a larger canvas, say 8x10, or higher? How would I scale up each layer to accommodate a high image size? Thx

Thanks for watching! I save each individual layer as a psd and have them printed large-format at fedex office. You could theoretically scale them to whatever size you want, but they only print 36" wide, so you would have to tile them.

Thx again for the info

how do you deal with the islands?
@AnthonyAspero9 жыл бұрын
+Carlos Klunk Thanks for watching! I deal with islands as I cut. With practice you kinda get an eye for what you can and cannot do. Alternatively, you could create all your bridges in PS after you make your original design. I used to do this, but I found it is not really worth the extra time.

+Anthony Aspero (cutanddestroy) thanks. right now I'm trying out making separate layers for each set of islands.

i think it´s easier using posterize effect and then separating the layers, that´s the way i do it, check my videos. The good thing about your method it´s that you can make each layer the way you want.

+Sebastián De La Maza Thanks for watching! It is definitely easier to use posterize, I'm just not a fan of the results it produces. This is just a different way; the more options the better :)
