This was great. I would also like to see people that have gained huge wealth and lost it all, maybe former lottery winners or sports people. It would be interesting to hear you guys delve into the psychological side of money and finance, which is one if the keys to building wealth. Great podcast guys.
@MakingMoneyPodcast Жыл бұрын
Thanks Andy! That's exactly what we're planning on doing, later on in the season we're speaking to Kerry Katona who went from being a millionaire to bankruptcy (twice) and then back to being a millionaire. We are definitely going to look more into the psycological side too, like you say it is key to building wealth. MM Team

That education thing is interesting - several years ago I took an evening class on mobile phone app development specifically games programming. I’ve been a developer for many years, so for me it was just a course to learn something different from the norm. One of the things that became apparent was how much many of the people who took the class struggled with the maths involved in the course. I was speaking to the lecture who was from Poland after class one evening and he told me that he was often shocked at how poor people here in the U.K. were at maths. Much of the math taught in our class, would be stuff teenage children would be expected to know in Poland, but most people in the class who were young adults found it really difficult. Makes me wonder where our schools are going wrong.

That is an absolutely beautiful way of describing things. I think Tim is right that people hide away from being honest about what makes them stand apart in case it is taken negatively. I absolutely respect him saying he felt superior as you can clearly see that is a personal interpretation of himself and he certainly does not appear to treat people as if he is better.

Love this episode ❤, Tim comes across so down-to-earth and a genuine guy, good luck to him and all his success. Would love to know more about him and his businesses if you have any further information or how you found out about him I’d appreciate the links. Also funny that I wasn’t the only one sold cigarettes to classmates at school, T has some interesting life lessons would be great to find out more about him and his journey in and around the crypto space, if that’s not on the agenda it should be. Best of luck to you all and thanks for the great content.
@MrDown2AT Жыл бұрын
Lol, I was a bit hesitant about mentioning the cigarette selling so thanks for the vote of confidence! Crypto is quite polarising but we should hopefully be doing a crypto episode next season 😄. I used to work in commodities as a broker, then a consultant, before I found my true love (crypto!). The crypto journey is a wild one so I won't give any more spoilers till the episode!

Great episode. They just seem to be getting better and better. Thank you. I found the bits about separating self-worth and identity from the money and career as well as the hedonic treadmill of comparison permeating into the higher levels of wealth that most of us will never see. You know what they say, comparison is the thief of joy(Sometimes even to one's self)

@@MrDown2AT I think this is where the 'The Gap vs The Gain' that Timo talks about comes into it's own.
