I kinda lost brain cells while watching the video. This although I can follow because it's one piece of lore that makes sense. The documentary crew actually arrived to this branch because someone commited suicide (although this is a theory, they never explain why they are documenting other then that one scene where they mention this guy, the only thing that can be worthwhile making a documentary for).. But they instead focus on the workers and rather turn it into a show (a documentary is not filmed like this. So they actually are chosing to edit and create a show like this) And so the show can go on. They pay the branch money

I think the Pam not failing art school one makes sense when you also think about her reaction to Jim chasing his dream in Philly. Kevin is Jim from the same universe that Meredith is Pam. In Season 7, Episode 14 “The Seminar” Andy asks for help from Kevin to replace Jim. Kevin says “I’m no Jim, I’m only Jim in a movie where Jim sees his future self if he never married Pam”. That is why Kevin is always up to date on their relationship as well as why he gets Jim to realize he needs to make a decision before he breaks up with Karen and goes after Pam.

Michael has poor social skills, and never built much of a friendship with anyone in the office prior to the show starting. When the show started, Michael thought of who he 'should' be, and just tried to become that person. That's why all the shots 'behind the scenes' show Michael as much meeker. Sure, it's just a band-aid, but the irony that such an important part of Toby's life "helps" Michael even a little bit is worth mentioning. Of course Toby--despite Michael's efforts--ends the fantasy by shooting down his suggestions as to how he (Michael) may actually be able to have a child of his own. Furthermore, even if she pretended to fail artschool, she has to (and did) tell Jim that she no longer feels like pursuing that career because shes happy with him in Scranton and Dunder Mifflin, why wouldnt she just admit she graduated and say the exact same thing?

As much as I love the Pam never failed art school theory, I remember Oscar and his "Roommate" at her art display and their criticisms of her art, as much as the art had a lot of emotion in it, their criticism wasn't wrong even if it was cruel. Her lighting was way off, the parking lot was empty and had no lines, the area looked empty and lifeless. I don't think she's a bad artist, far from it, but she needed a lot more work before she was really successful.
@lucy-wp8ic3 жыл бұрын
Definitely wasn’t an impressive piece. And even if her work was gold, Pam lacked the drive for the art world as well. You have to assert yourself in a way that is too incompatible with her nature. She’s too sweet, too humble to ever be successful in that kind of industry.
@booaye5313 жыл бұрын
the thing with this is that yes that piece of hers sucked but she must of had something that convinced PRAT to accept her- that is an extremely rigorous and hard art school to get into

She failed art school because they switched a class from acrobat to quark (2 similar computer Programms), so it wouldn’t really have to do anything with her artistic abilities much rather than her ability to deal with computers (which she also implies by saying she “hates computers”). Besides that I think her classes concentrated more on graphic design than typical “art” like the one from the display. In that Field she has proven to be pretty good. On the other hand in the opening of the scene, she walks out of the a building, probably her school, saying “I can’t believe this” & then proceeds to dial Jim & talk to him about it. So my take on this is that she didn’t really fail art class but just did not want to proceed with it anymore because of Jim & Scranton etc.

4:27 Kevin is in fact supremely smart. He's drummer and leadsinger. While being a drummer you have to hold a very different rhythm than a leadsinger. So those kind of things make Kevin a supermind...

I just enjoyed binge watching The Office. My theory is that Michael is secretly in love with Pam. In the first episode, he comments on her being “cute”. He makes a number of comments about her attractiveness throughout the entirety of the show. In the Diwali episode he tries to kiss her. He was the only one who showed up to her art exhibition and even bought the painting. At the Baptism of Jim and Pam’s first baby, he tries to force himself into the role of the baby’s Godfather, just so he can remain in her life. At his last day in Scranton, he places highest importance on saying bye to Pam and was clearly upset when he couldn’t. His face lit up when he saw her at the airport.

I think it was more of a family kind of affection he had for Pam. Somewhat sibling-y like Pam’s his youngest sister or to stretch a little, like a father-daughter relationship. This explains everything that’s mentioned in your comment as well hehe.

so, I actually assumed while watching the episode where Pam leaves art school, for the second time, that she hadn't really failed, and lied to Jim. But, I think thats a really brilliant story telling technique, because of the little knowing smirk she throws at the camera. And, in the final season there's this whole thing where fans of the documentary questioned her devotion to Jim, who was written to be this like lowkey, selfless kinda guy for her, and Pam was so hesitant, so I feel like it was written to imply she lied, to know she really was as all in for Jim.

Kevin isn’t a mastermind but he has to be much smarter than what he actually comes off as. He’s slow, but he gets there.

Pam not failing art school but instead choosing Jim over it makes her motivation for wanting Jim to leave athlead/leap a lot better since she would have already have sacrificed her dream for the relationship.

I think pam neither failed nor graduated art school. I think she dropped it midway through. Similar to the theory in the video, I believe that she realized she couldnt spend more time apart from jim. But she couldnt tell him that she broke off art school just for him, because then he would have felt as if he was standing between her and her dream, similar to how roy did. So instead, she made up an excuse to go back to scranton. Another point that hints at her not failing is that you dont talk to someone and only then realize youre failing. You get back an exam or you receive an email. Pam made it sound like she was seeking the conversation, in which case she mustve at least had a hunch that she was failing already and in that case she wouldnt have presented her as happy as she did
