About WAFF, Matt said that this is the "weirdest, darkest lost B-side of Muse's life", and he recently talked about this song being the new closer for the concerts, maybe bc of the Knights vibes in the last riff, but just imagine this as the ending and then a lot of heavy riffs like they did when Stockholm was the closer in 2004 Btw, as always, great reaction, this channel is literally the best about Muse, and what a great album, I've already listened to Verona like 10 times, that song is just amazing (like almost all the songs in the album)

I hope that they close with WaFF. Three minutes wouldn't be enough though. I hope that they bring it down at the end and then gradually build a slow, progressive crescendo towards an EPIC finale that lasts for 15 minutes + with some dirty, fuzzy, trancey, arp-laden techno that's somehow perfectly injected in order to rouse the crowd into a chant of, "We are fucking fucked!".... then this could be the most poetic scene as we all collectively proclaim that we know what our future holds but are numb to its implications. This pretentious old-school Muse-lover is massively excited about the live Muse experience in May. I reckon that I may have set my expectations too high though.

Let me guess Showbiz, OOS and Absolution? Or OOS, Absolution and BHAR? I personally love all their styles and albums but I’m more open minded to that way of thinking and approach. I do love their earlier sounds when they started but I know bands evolve and grow and that’s the purpose of Muse, that is their intent is to change and write what interests them at the time. Makes it hard for fans who are stuck in certain genres or eras of the band but that is the quintessential essence of Muse and always has been.

From what I know is this song is suppose to reflect on loss of lives from covid. At about 1/3 the way thru I thought this sound more like losing someone you're in love with romantically. Its amazing how someone we don't really know or have a personal relationship can be there with us through their music. Great reaction. I love this album, some absolute belters! I've been Muse obsessed since Origin, and am surprised not more people appreciate Ghosts, Matt alone with his piano is just hypnotic. Some stunning lyrics 'lost in a void with your ghost and our memories', so powerful! I really like it! One surprising note about that song however, I'm finding myself skipping the album version of Ghosts and instead listening to the version Muse released featuring 'Elisa'. They sing together towards the end and it just sounds so powerful and moving together. Absolutely stunning.

I think there are exceptions, but i think their lyrics was the weakest part. its just so on the nose and lacks any subtlety, with the only exception being ghosts. WOTP is an absolute banger of an album 👍 Will of the People is a fun song, even though it gets a bit repetitive, it's always fun to rock out to, and the chant is just too contagious Compliance is definitely on their pop side, but it doesn't mean it doesn't have that muse flare to it, it just has that groove... Liberation is for sure their most queen-sounding song, the piano and acoustic are what sold me to it, and I love the way it continues into WSD at the end Won't Stand Down is always going to be a huge heavy banger, and it will always make me play the riffs on air-guitar Ghosts is a song I won't listen to as much as the others, but it is a nice emotional piano ballad I'll listen to every now and then Halloween is the perfect pop rock song for halloween, the vocals and guitarwork are awesome, and the vibes it gives off are totally halloweeny Kill Or Be Killed is still probably my favorite song on the album, the heavy riffs, fast paced pre chorus, synth-filled chorus, and perfect solo all just add up to make this masterpiece Verona is definitely a song I will have to listen to more to appreciate every layer of it, the slow peaceful bliss feeling with the R&J themed lyrics make a beautiful song that still kind of ties into the theme of the album (i also love the guitar riff, it reminds me of U2 a bit) Euphoria is growing on me the fastest out of any song on the album, the guitar gives of MAJOR Knights of Cydonia vibes, and the energetic chorus and guitar solo will always make me smile We Are F**king F**ked is also growing on me quick, the gritty guitar and vocals in the verses give off a dark feeling of muse that I've always loved, the distorted guitar in the chorus is awesome, the solo is just pure gold, and it just makes the album go out with a bang if i had to put these from least fav to fav (at the moment) it would be 10. Ghosts (How Can I Move On) 9. Liberation 8. Compliance 7. Verona 6. Will Of The People 5. Won't Stand Down 4. You Make Me Feel Like It's Halloween 3. We Are F**king F**ked 2. Euphoria 1. @@proevoisace7 I'm glad you're enjoying it too! I don't think it's a bad song, just seems like a Muse attempt at an Adele song. I've appreciated their slower tracks a lot throughout the years and just wish it had a more impactful climax. The bridge was promising but it just went back to a reprised and modulated chorus.

@@stray_rae Same, it has everything. Weird pedal effect riff, arpeggio chorus, heavy as fuck in the middle, a bloody death growl, a really unique solo, and Matt doing fulsetto. Doesn't get better than that.

The disappointing thing about KOBK is that, if the production was better, it genuinely could have reached Stockholm levels of awesome. The song is top tier, the execution, not so much

@@picklerick4733 I genuinely don't understand the criticisms about the production, what's wrong with it?
@picklerick47332 жыл бұрын
@@ShadowSatan411 Muse have always had, or at least for the past few albums, criticisms of their production being too saturated. This album definitely does that. The sonic elements that made Muse so desirable and unique have disappeared slowly over the last 10 years. Production is everything in terms of making you sound like you. Everything is starting to sound more like computer generated instruments, which is fine if you like that, but the reason I fell in love with Muse and why their golden three albums are so golden, is that the bombastic nature of their songs were always sonically grounded within the confides of being a band. You could hear it and feel it. They feel less like a band, from a productive standpoint and more like 3 producers. Which again, is fine if you like that, but it's lost a level of realism and relatability because of it

Verona has a U2 vibe which is why it just doesn’t resonate with me as much as it does with many fans. But it’ll grow on me for sure. Musically, WAFF is something else. I connect to it on a deeper level than many of the other tracks. It has a melancholy to it, calling back to Hullabaloo like you said.

You were rocking out to Muse, and I knew I liked and respected your opinion. But when you name dropped Typhoons, I realized that you were a gentleman of refined taste, and for that, I salute you.
@TheValueOfN2 жыл бұрын
I hope that they close their concerts with WaFF.

Glad Verona is getting the love because it really is one of the best songs they've done in years. My partner has ruined Will of the People for me as it sounds cartoony, like its meant to be played when some kids are running amok through the school, rebelling against the teachers in some TV show and now I can't get that image out of my head.

that made me laugh, the melody of the chorus of Will Of The People is a nursery rhyme. I can just imagine signing it in year 3 of school. For me, it's the worst song in their entire collection along with get up and fight.

I feel like Ghosts hits differently if you have lost someone dear to you. A parent, a sibling, etc. I have lost my mother to cancer in 2002, and my father to a heart attack in 2010. Ghosts broke my heart. I wasn't sure of the meaning of the song after the first listen. At first I thought it was a post breakup song, but the second listen made me realize it was more about trying to move on after losing someone to death too soon. At least that's what I get out of this song. It's beautiful to me.

WAFF, Halloween, KOBK and WSD would definitely be in my top 4 ! I like Liberation, Euphoria and WOTP but I would put them a bit below. In the bottom 3: Compliance (the bassline is great though), Ghost (the piano and voice are lovely and I will probably listen to it more, but it feels like it belonged with Matt's solo projects) and Verona (as you said, it doesn't sound like a Muse song, even though the progression and build up is nice, maybe it will grow on me)
