I prefer earlier than later, about 25% perhaps. Once you have that mycelium evenly distributed, it's going to fill in quickly and evenly. Waiting for 50% is a bit of a setback I think, but then I haven't ran the experiment, because I don't really care, lol. I'm not in a hurry anyway.

this looks like ordinary mold, but is fungus-mezyl. Would it be poisonous to eat these half-digested grains with the braid? In the case of mold, this would be very toxic...

can i ask? i use mung beans as mushroom starter.. and i got left over that i throw into worm bin. that mung beans and mycelium that grow in it produce heat that my worm escape and die.. mycelium produce heat? or is it the mung beans? thanks.

I didn't realize oyster mycelium colonizes so slowly, from what else I've seen on KZbin it looks like 16 days is the maximum most fungus would need

most likely grain size, and strain. Some strains tend to be longer colonizers and for the grain, larger grains are generally unfavored over smaller grains due to surface area and ease of mycelium growth.
