Not saying it’s the case with him, but I’ve seen it with some other reactors who possibly have histories of trauma, during the violent beating of Violet, some people are so triggered by the scene their fight or flight response kicks in and they really are unable to process the information, because they are in a state of survival in their heads…but then there’s also some people who are either just dumb or high AF, and it goes over their heads. Don’t think either is the case here, but yeah, he totally missed it. 😂

I, too, am a Renegade who has watched loads of reactions... I grew up with the theatre. I want to know if anybody else get's an "Oliver Twist, Nancy moment" at the beginning of Screech... the call in the night.. Ren uses all acoustics in the rooms and echoes in the stairwells etc. Hence the taped corridor floor etc.... genius 🎉🎉😊❤

@simonmultiservice I’ve spent most of my life alone and even, dare I say it, in my marriage. I’ve been separated 7 years now and in that time I’ve struggled with loneliness too. However, the last few years and particularly during Covid lock downs it’s given me the opportunity to make friends with myself, to not to be too hard on myself and do you know what, I’m ok. I can be on my own. It’s just the way things are and I can still do things that give my pleasure. Like Ren said at the end of Hi Ren, it’s not a battle, it’s a pendulum, a dance and the more you struggle the harder the dance gets. I guess I’ve learned to relax and to soften. I used to beat myself up about wanting to go fishing by the sea on my own. I spent a lot of time doing it, stood on my own on beaches or out in a boat. I used to think, “What a waste! I should be out with friends, or doing something productive.” However, I’ve come to realize it’s actually doing the best thing I could do because it gives me peace. It’s good for my soul and I love it so why shouldn’t it do it. I’m no longer alone. I’ve found a wonderful partner. It’s like coming to terms with who I am and learning to love myself has enabled me to love others and to be loved by others. Weird but true I think.

@@rbbea I can entertain myself no problem. I build RC hotrods, have several motorcycles I like to ride, I build scifi replica props, toys, furniture, sew clothes and backpacks. I spend my time learning new crafts and skills. Covid was spent learning myself to 3d draw and 3d print items for my projects. In the end it just feels like pointless jerking off. Doing things for myself is ultimately not what I love to do. Experience shared are remembered through time because we rkeep memories alive throug communication.... I have forgotten dozens of concerts I attended alone over the decades even though I remember even more. But none of it really matters because noone else knows what i experienced and telling stories is a poor substitute for being there. So it feels pointles. I thrive on being something for others. I thrive doing things WITH others. Everything is just better when shared. I find someone every 7 years in average. They leave me after somewhere around a years time. Allways saying it is about them and not me. So I am clueless about why noone wants to be mine. -I got tonnes of friends. I see them in the weekends for birthdays, dinners or parties... and I am allways the only single one and they all talk about family stuff that I envy or really can't relate to because I don't have those experiences myself. So you kinda feel left behind... My weekdays are just lonely. Sometimes I go 5 days without talking to anyone exept my boss and random customers..... Some days I realise I havent even spoken all day If i worked alone on the countryside. When I have feel happy or sad there is noone to talk things through with wich makes my brain spin out of control.... and then I have to spend days debating my own thoughts trying to make sense of things. Wich can be really hard when you don't have outside perspectives... It has been like this my entire life. Everyone says I am nice, calm, kind, skilled, original, funny, sweet and smart... and I often get calls to ask if I can help my friends build things. I always say yes and have litterally build most of my friends homes. Everybody want's a piece of me.... But noone ever wants to keep the whole dang cake for themselves. And it frustrates me why that is. I even turned my back on god. If this is the life he deemed me to live. He is not a kind god. Never was. Going to church and being preached about love and kindness felt like provocation, humiliation and lies, because that is not the world I see. I do however try to keep my head up on move on and be as happy and outgoing as I can... I strive to make the world better by being the opposite of what I percieve... I still hope there is someone out there who can see me for what i am and love me for it. And I'll never get so depressed i wanna end things. -but honestly, when death comes for me I am looking forward to everlasting nothingness, not existing! Thats at least peace over this endless rollercoaster of life where we build things up just to get torn down with time...... P.s my life also have alot of happy and joyfull times and moments. it feels like crawling through a desert only finding allmost dried out oasis, when you are on the brink of death...The only thing I ever wanted in life was clearly not ment for me. Love and stability. That makes me sad. It is what it is.

It took me a month, multiple times a day, to really get all the nuances. I literally could not stop watching it. First thing in the morning and last thing at night. It was like a meditation . I dove into The Big Push and when I saw the range Ren had I knew I was heading down the rabbit hole.

I hope that you spotted that the music that REN playes at the start of each episode is his homage to troubadors of the Middle Ages who would perform stories, poems and other works whilst playing a stringed instrument like a lute. These tales began as tales of chivalry and courtly love but expanded to include satires, bawdy tales, poilitical and religious commentary and other rhetoric. It is truly awesome of REN to give a nod to these lyrical predecessors as he delivers, darker, more dystopian rhymes.

Just an observation on one point that shows how Ren sets stuff up. The ditty at the very start of Jenny's Tale to me is a variation on "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen", the Christmas carol. Maybe setting the timing of the tale. And at the final scene of Violet's Tale he is by a shop front which displays "Seasonal Greetings". A miracle birth and a tragedy of an untimely death. Also, in Violets tale the next line following the line about Stevie being a little prick, "Violet was a silent girl and Violet she fell fast", he's telling us already that Violet is pregnant. I dont know if it's just a British phrase, but "fell fast" means she quickly became pregnant as in "she fell pregnant fast".

What a genuine reaction ❤ There's one part of this trilogy that I haven't heard any reactor pick up on. In Screeches tale he drops a huge clue about Violets tale. He starts it with "Our story (Screeches Tale) it starts, right at the end...(of the life of poor Jenny)"... and then he finishes it with... "our story it ends, RIGHT AT THE START...!!!" which to me is a huge hint that Violets Tale is actually the start of the entire story, their birth.

So to echo some other comments but also because I have listened to this so much: Jenny and James are twins. Jenny is a street worker. If James is 14 so is Jenny and 1000 nights before Ren eludes that she started working at 11 years old. Violet was a victim of sexual abuse by her parents and her boyfriend. Her boyfriend kills her and in a very classic Greek tragedy fashion; Violet’s son kills Violet’s daughter who could not say a thing. Growing up Violet never had anyone to turn too. When she needed help she was abandoned. After James (Screech) kills Jenny he has nobody to turn too as well. The whole song is about generational trauma and the cycles that have hurt so many boys and girls throughout history. Now with all that said: please come back and react to chalk outlines.

13:19 - come on, BP! You know Ren by now! In fact, the answer to your question is in your very video. In Violet's tale, Ren is obviously using the natural reverb of the surroundings and is staying in place a specific place to use the natural reverb. So yeah, in the tales series, Ren and Sam absolutely thought about the natural acoustics. It's most obvious in Violet's Tale when Ren is standing on the spot for an unnaturally long time because he needs to stay there until he's ready to move to the enclosed space to kill the reverb (from 16:21 to 16:40 he stood in the same spot to get the reverb, and to also kill the reverb at the point that he wanted to).

Been lovin' all the guest hosts, and you introducing them to Ren man, good stuff. Not a complaint or bitching or anything, but I got to thinking maybe you guys don't realize it on your end. The video being shown in the inset box at the bottom of the scene is always out of sync with the audio. pretty significantly too, like a whole second or more. Doesn't really bother me cause I've usually seen the song before, and I more tune in for the guests reaction, but I know it bothers some people. Omg also!! On the subject of traits from parents!!! According to my therapist, trauma *such as abuse * literally stains your DNA and literally gives your children everything from anxiety to autism! Absolutely insane!❤most ppl never know why they feel the way they feel !! That’s why!
