Hi! I discovered your channel today, and I have to say your collection is amazing! I am starting my own collection of LPs and I was wondering if you have any quick tips in regards of how you take care of the records, which LP player should I get.. any quick tips would be appreciated. Congrats again on your collection!
@mrhoffame6 жыл бұрын
That is awesome my friend. As much as I love my collection now it still doesn't compare to that feeling from the first year or two when I started collecting vinyl. My big piece of advice...just go for what makes you happy. Don't buy stuff because it's "What you are suppose to have" or what anyone says. Only buy what you just honestly can't put down and gives you such pleasure to own. As a collector you will find you move through stages of what you want to own and collect. For me, if I could go back and start all over, I would probably have focused on getting everything in mint condition from the start. ...but that is also not fair to say because that is where I am now as a collector. Back then some ring wear and pops/crackles didn't matter. As far as equipment. I think for the money it can be great to start with some vintage equipment. You can really get some great vintage turntable and receivers that you will be very happy with. What kind of music do you like? Do you live in the states or outside the states?
@danielaltamira92846 жыл бұрын
mrhoffame Thank you very much for taking the time to reply. I completely agree with you that owning the LP pf one of your favorite bands is just the best feeling ever. I live in Mexico, and it is hard to find some records in good conditions. My favorite genre is definitely rock. Bands like AC/DC, Guns N Roses, Queen, The Killers, Muse, Arctic Monkeys and the best of all (of course in my opinion) Kings of Leon. I started this year and I have around 25 LPs already, so when I looked your collection, I noticed how much good stuff is out there that I really want, lol

Very nice. I am getting so sick of my Ikea shelves I really want to go back to standard record store shelves. So much better for my neck and my eyes. I know a guy that puts 12 by 12 ceramic tiles on the back of his shelves behind the last record to keep them from warping.
@mrhoffame6 жыл бұрын
I felt the same way. That was my reason for the change. I have an Ikea 5X5 I'm trying to get rid of right now lol. I kinda do the same thing except I use old lps and mailing inserts at the back of each cube to prevent the warping. I also make sure over 3/4 of each stack sits vertical at all time. No man, just the opposite. Having it "overly" organized like this makes it 100 times easier to find things lol. My rule is I keep my collection organized to where I can find anything within 7 seconds of looking for it. What I will do sometimes is rearrange where I may move one or two genres closer to my turntable or to a higher positioned shelf. I have noticed that placement of genres can make me subconsciously listen to some genres more than others.
@doopum16 жыл бұрын
