The best part is that this song was never released as a single but rather swifties made it THE taylor National anthem. That is beautiful 👏🏽 she said she would get so sad to perform this song but now enjoys it’s because her fans made it a great experience!

I think the music just like the lyrics go over the phases of grieving. She went through denial, anger, acceptance and everything in between and the musicality reflects that. She’s beyond and in her own league and I’m so glad her music can connect us 🧣❤️

That's the thing though, the songs on 1989, rep and Lover are very cleverly written as usual but they're masked by the production. If you know her story and pay attention to the lyrics, that becomes really obvious. The production is only there to set the tone of the album, the lyrics are still exemplary as usual.

I'm actually glad that the 10 minute version WASN'T on the original Red as then we wouldn't have it now, but more importantly it wouldn't have been "appropriate" for a 10 minute track on a pop artist's album.

Back then she would have been mocked for it, or been called excessive. After years of fans hailing ATW as one of her best songs, her fall and rise up in grace again, folklore and evermore giving focus again to her songwriting and with the context of her re recordings?? It was the perfect moment to actually appreciate the song in all its deserved glory

August is still my favourite song of Taylor, but this 10-min version... I am literally kind of scared of the magical beauty of it. It is the only song I adore which I just cannot listen to on repeat, cause it is so overwhelming. And All too well short film is now my favourite piece of art (above La La Land). Yeah, I didn't even become of a fan of her's until 1989. Overall, each album seemed better than the last. Except maybe reputation. Evermore and Folkore I think are her best works. Although, All Too Well 10-min version I think is her best song ever.

The lyric "and did the twin flame bruise paint you blue, just between us did the love affair maim you too?" is a reference to their zodiac signs. Taylor and his ex-lover is a Sagittarius, a fire sign. They were the twin flames, so Taylor asked him if the end of the relationship hurt him too or not. Also, they were both born December.
