When I listen to it, I never realize it’s 10 minutes. It goes by so fast for me and that’s VERY impressive for a long song. Like?? She made 10 minutes feel like a regular 3:30 song

the power of story telling huh, the 5 minute version has a better build up to climax and fall back, but she did great with the buildi up and sustaining that power in that BRIDGE AHHHH.

Whenever I hear the long outro of this song, it makes me think of a conversation she’s either having to him or herself where she’s trying to convince herself/him that it wasn’t just her imagination. Those feelings and moments were real. Like, “You can’t say you(he) felt nothing for me. It was rare, I was there. I remember it, you remember it.”
@Ok_Loren2 жыл бұрын
I always think of that way, too. She’s not letting him gaslight her.

A lot of the lyrics allude to other songs tbh. -Her turning 21 connects to 22 as her 21st birthday was possibly her worst, so she wanted to make 22 her best -Him not showing up to her birthday connects to “The Moment I Knew” -The “twin flame” lyric connects to “State of Grace” -“did the love affair maim you too” connects to “Sad Beautiful Tragic” -and many more but it’s a lot to cover in a comment lmao

This song... anyone who's ever loved someone who hurt you and you really truly loved them. This is song grabs you by the hand and pulls you back for a few seconds ~ you remember who you were then and who you are now. It's like smiling when you think of that person and you can't even begin to describe the feeling of it all, the song lingers and you do too - just for a moment before continuing forward.

It was originally cut to around 5 min for the original Red album. But, that version was the cut/edited version from a much longer 10+ minute song. This is closer to how the song was originally written in 2011 before it was cut. This song now is the longest’ #1 song in history beating out the 50 year record “American Pie”. I’d like to see you react to the Vault tracks from Red TV. Starting with Ronan (not officially a vault track but it’s not on the original Red album). I think Red TV is still performing outstanding for a re-released 10- yr old album.

So she is re-recording her old albums because her old record label sold the original masters to a third-party, and i it offered them to her for extortionate prices. In order to make a statement about artists owning the work that they wrote, she is reproducing her old albums under her new record label to regain ownership. But as part of this she has added old songs that were cut from the albums originally, to show that she is the one who made these albums and knows what didn’t make it.
@Starbuck-dr7yl2 жыл бұрын
They never offered to sell the masters. They offered to give her one past album due every one new album she delivered, which means she would never own them. So she left. The label then sold the company to a third party instead of giving her the opportunity to purchase her masters.
@tsmastermind2 жыл бұрын
they sold them to scooter who had bullied her for years and they said if she wanted her albums she had to record a new one for them for her to have an old one they did a lot of shitty things and basically tried to manipulate her etc they were never going to let her own her masters
@alexdr7512 жыл бұрын
To cut it short, she only gave them the fish. She didn't teach them how to get it that they became selfish enough to own the whole lake to control her from fishing. So she wrapped up everything, get to the boat and starts to travel the sea. They didn't know that she's the brightest and amazing fisherwoman out bc they are always belittle her. They can never outsmart her.

Taylor does not own the master recording of her first six albums and they were bought by someone she hates. As a result, she is re recording all of them (using Taylor´s Version to differentiate them) so that she owns them and devaluates the original ones. In each re recording she releases extra songs from the vault that were written for the album but did not make it. In this case, it´s the originial version of ATW which was cut down to 5min for the original RED album (2012)
