The band has said that the reason they get knocked for not having a wild stage presence is because they try really hard to make the live show sound as close to the studio as possible.

The best part of this show was the countdown to start. It was just Jon Mess sitting in his bedroom eating a plate of rice and beans and staring in to his webcam, occasionally petting his cat. My brother and I were dyingggg

Please PLEASE *PLEASE* keep journeying with Dance Gavin Dance. If I were to choose next: 1. “And I Told Them I Invented Times New Roman” (Jonny Craig on vox) 2. “Tree Village” (Kurt Travis on vox, Will Swan on heavy vox) Or 3. “Son of Robot” (Tilian on vox) Have a fantastic day!

Matt Mingus the drummer, Jon Mess, the unclean vocalist and Will Swan the lead guitarist have been in the band since the beginning around 2005, their synergy is unparalleled at this point, then Tillian and the Bassist Tim Ferrick joined around the same time in 2013 which coincidentally was when I became a big fan.

@@MusicShed Sergio Mendia (I think it his name?) covered Tim's part. But the concert was heartbreaking. Tilian couldn't do it. He has a complete mess, crying on stage and unable to sing. They should have postponed it. They couldn't even do the encore because Tilian was not able to. So sad.

i love your piano improvisations in the key of any song you react to, it gives me a better grasp of the composition of the song. i have trouble bringing bass and guitar into the same place so when i hear the two voicings put together on piano it really helps me understand general composition
