Genetics lesson. It's usually the daddy who is responsible for the gender of the kid so it's actually Henry's fault for not having a son.
@strawberrysoulforever83367 жыл бұрын
Well, actually, he had many sons - and probably more than two daughters. It's just that many of them were stillborn or died soon after they were born. The only one who survived was Jane Seymour's son, who became king before the reigns of his half-sisters.
@3kylajsmith7 жыл бұрын
You are right, the women always gives a x chromosome, the sperm is either X or Y and therefore determines gender. XX for a girl and XY for a boy.
@AngelEmfrbl7 жыл бұрын
IF its true she had 6 fingers, then part of the reason for the miscarriages was bad genetics possibly. One side effect of deformities is if their genetic based then a child who has it can be aborted by the body to save bringing a unhealthy child into the world. Other problems were related to health. Cosmetics often had poison in them such as arsenic/lead, causing toxic build up in the body. Poor diet, even among the wealthy (they ate the wrong things a lot). Poisons were often consumed as medicine to kill off infections as it impacted bacteria in the body, but also cells in the body. Ann also may have simply been best with plenty of bed rest... As sometimes doing too much can cause a miscarriage. we will never know as she isn't here to tell her tale. Any number of factors could have played a role, including stress brought on from not having a son for henry. Miscarriages and stillborn can often lead to further ones, especially if a series of them occur, often making the woman's body unable to hold a child at all. Stress from pressure to bare a child when the mother herself isn't ready but being force to in a situation can often be a big problem. The damage dealt to the womb or disruption of hormones and mental state can get to the point of no return. Some stillborns only occur at birth and its possible to breath life into the baby, though mostly its a lost cause even today and in those days it didn't matter as they didn't have the medical knowledge to even try. Given birth to Lizzy, could have even just damaged her enough inside not to be able to bare further children. In the end it didn't matter as Henry just had enough and Ann was put to death.

In actuality, Henry VIII was only a bit disappointed when Elizabeth was born to him and Anne Boleyn. Anne would become pregnant at least three more times (all the pregnancies would end in miscarriages), and wasn't executed until 1536, three years after Elizabeth was born, and it wasn't for giving birth to a daughter, it was for treason, adultery, and incest.

@DarkEmerald19906 жыл бұрын
MrAnimepredator Elizabeth was a brutal queen as well. She even killed her cousin Mary, (Queen of Scots) on nothing more than Mary being more eligible for the throne. Mary only sought sanctuary in Elizabeth's country, so Elizabeth had Mary imprisoned and executed. Funnily enough, Mary's (Queen of Scots) son, James ended up ruling England after Elizabeth finally croaked. Elizabeth was also known for having Catholics executed too. Bringing England back into her faith. On another note, despite being treated cruelly by her sister, Elizabeth loved and respected her. Probably why she requested to be buried by her sister when she finally died.
@graphiquejack6 жыл бұрын
Elizabeth was, for the most part, pretty moderate. Edward and Mary were the extremists. And Mary Queen of Scots plotted to dispose and murder Elizabeth, and Elizabeth was desperate not to have to kill her. Mary Queen of Scots was no innocent as you claim here. Elizabeth tended to only execute Catholics who were also treasonous, though she did get harsher on Catholic priests as more plots to kill her surfaced.
