I KNEW you would love this one!!!! It's amazing that the Doobie Brothers used 2 drum sets, guitars, keyboards and other instruments to create this icon song and 50 yrs later HF took it to the next level using only Adam and their own vocal talents. I love all the new sounds Adam added especially that eerily beautiful high note at the beginning and during the breakdown. Is it any wonder Tim says Adam is the magic of HF
@anitawright7169 Жыл бұрын

These boys never fail at anything.. They do every song to perfection and make it their own.. what can you say about Home Free?? They are aliens❤❤❤🏡🆓🏡🍟 they do the original singers proud I'm telling you these guys are amazing.. Adam Rupp is doing all the high-pitched notes when they stop and do the breakdown watch Adam you can see his mouth as he's hitting those high notes.. Adam is killing it in this song with the rhythm..❤❤

@leslieoneal4464 Жыл бұрын
Adam was the one doing the high slides. Not sure who was doing the guitar sounds in this one, but usually whenever you hear guitar, it's Chance (sometimes Austin, but since he was singing lead here, it probably was Chance). 👍😉 You still have a LOT of material to get through! Haha They do mimic other instruments occasionally...guitar plucking (usually Chance), bass (usually Tim), slide guitar, steel guitar, horns even! The harmonica, of course (both Adam & Austin)...and Chance's jaw harp (in "Man of Constant Sorrow"). Both Chance & Adam are great at throat singing/overtones! Wait 'til you hear the beginning of their newest song, "Skull and Bones"!! OMG!! Chance starts singing bass lead, with Tim singing an octave lower (!!), and Adam singing overtones!! 😳🤯❤🔥 It doesn't even sound possible! I suggest you do a 2-fer with the full length "lyrics video" (put out by Ubisoft, I'm assuming) with only the videogame scenes & lyrics playing on screen...AND also throw in the MUCH shorter LIVE version HF performed at Summer Game Fest 2023! You can watch them on stage and get more of an idea who's doing what. 👍 Chance leads & plays guitar. Austin plays mandolin for the first part. All drums are Adam (and he kills it!), and he also does the chanting "Skull and Bones"! The lyric video was edited and the awesome tenor vocals by Rob & Austin were wayyy muted for some reason. 😕 You can really hear them soar in the live version!! ❤ The guys have said there's an official video coming later in the year where we'll get to see our favorite pirates again!! Yeaaa 🏴☠️ This was such a cool thing for our guys!! Apparently Ubisoft heard the "Sea Shanty Medley" they put out during lockdown & contacted them to write & perform a new shanty for the new game that's slated for beta testing in August. The game has been in production for quite awhile now & HF has had to sit on this little secret for about a year!! Lol Bet they're glad the cat's out of the bag finally! 😂🔥 Please do it SOON!!! 🎶❤👀🤯

Happy that you got to listen to a non-country Home Free song since Country is not your favorite! Also happy that you really enjoyed it, this is a Home Fry favorite. Skull and Bones that popped up is a must listen and is definitely not Country, you will love it! Thanks for another great reaction!

This is simply excellent again!! I have been a fan of the Doobie Brothers for a long time. This song is just timeless. It still swings. Really something for Home Free. So great sung, so great harmonies, bone-feeling bass, but for me it's Adam who makes it truly phenomenal. He nailed it!! The vocal percussion/vocal sounds is just inhumane. So unbelievably good. For me the very best beatboxer/vocal percussionist/mouth artist there is. And I haven't even mentioned his appearance yet. 😊😉 He's so handsome. I do like that he has his hair a bit longer again and then with that bandana on. Love it, love Home Free💖

Loved watching your reaction to this very high energy Home Free cover. Usually, my feeling is that with a large group of performers they should have the larger part of your screen; also HF puts so much thought into details of their videos. However, I do think it is cute to watch through the setting of an old television screen. Be well.
@kimmillard6915 Жыл бұрын
I knew you would like it! It has a lot going on. Chance plays a great guitar. And Adam…….what can we say!?!?! He was also doing the high pitched sounds some too. Adam is a tenor when he sings and he does sing some in some of the songs. This may take a couple listens to figure out who is doing what!
@dagmar.6954 Жыл бұрын
I grew up on classic rock & am a big fan of the Doobie Brothers & had their albums. "Listen To The Music" was a big hit for them back in 1972. Love that Home Free is keeping this great music alive & introducing it to the younger generation. The guys did a really nice job of this song. Austin was great for the lead & loved the background harmonies of Rob, Chance & Tim's bass. Adam killed it on the vocal percussion again. He always comes up with some new & interesting sounds.

Love this song. This is originally done by the Doobie Brothers in the 70s. Man of Constant Sorrow it was actually Chance making the mouth harp sound at the start of the song. Adam did the nominica. 😁 their newest skull and Bones was written by Chance for the upcoming video game by Ubisoft. It's awesome him and Tim are working the bass. Chance is the lead singer on it.

Yes, those high soaring, slide guitar sounds were Adam Rupp. The guitar sound is a toss up between Austin and Chance as to who was doing it. If you want "see" them do it, in their cover of "Can't Stop The Feelin", they do a breakdown where you can see what each is doing vocally.

Jeremy you keep trying to catch Home Free out using instruments....I promise you IF there are instruments in any song/video that you will actually see them. I have listened to Home Free and seen them 3 times in concert well BEFORE Adam got the looper on stage (which was just done within the last year. Chalk it up to the overlay process in the recording studio. Just enjoy!!!!
@musikbyjh Жыл бұрын
Oh I’m not trying to “catch” anything. I just hear certain things, but don’t SEE the mouth movements. That’s all. Doesn’t mean they don’t do it with their mouths in the studio…you just don’t see Adam making the guitar sound in the video…but you see him make all the other sounds. I’m def well aware of layering in the studio. I’m an engineer. I do it myself. ☺️ But you typically see the guys mouthing the things we hear.

I'm so glad that you reacted to this song. I'm always looking for reactions and there just aren't very many and it's a shame cuz they did a wonderful job. If you want to hear the most stunning cover of a song listen to postmodern jukebox dream on featuring Morgan James. Also Pentatonix Kevin's 5th. It's the backstory and Genesis of Kevin who's the beatboxer and also plays cello and he does that at the same time it's called cello-boxing. You'll just be mesmerised by his performance
@nancyholter5646 Жыл бұрын
The steel guitar might not have been Adam, there are other instances of steel guitar - for example Cover me Up has steel guitar harmony along side Adam's brushes. The same with the guitar - the guys are very good at replicating various non-percussion instruments. I think Darren plays with the panning just to keep us on our toes, to keep it from being boring.

In a few of their songs Austin has made a guitar sound. In the video for Do You Hear What I Hear, you can see him with his hands cupped over his mouth making that sound. In their live shows, Austin would also join Adam in making the harmonica sound in Man Of Constant Sorrow.

Its often easier to experience while wearing headphones. It refers to the sound moving from one side to the other. For example, the sound would first be heard on the left side of your headphones and slowly move to the right side of your headphones.
