Crazy day here. Just getting to eat some "lunch" and watch some Muskrat (better than the other way around, I imagine)! The truck cover came out just as I envisioned from the beginning except for the raised framework you put on. Have a good evening!

Thank you! I like the way it ended up. Hopefully, it will work out. All of these cab type things are kind of a pain. Everything you need is out of reach!

Good morning 🌞 Muskrat, that top looks great. Maybe for the bottom of the sides you can use a 1x2 piece of wood and put one or two wraps of tarp on it and screw it to the sideboards. I know it’s going to put small holes in your new tarp (grrrr) but it might work a little better than the bungee cords. At least driving around in the mountains you’re not going 100 mph 😂👍💪🙌🙏🌈✌️have a great day and stay safe my friend

Good Morning! I might end up having to. I haven't driven it yet, hopefully it doesn't flap too bad.... Have a great day too!

I have seen your work! I knew you could and would come up with a good idea!! We would cut 2x6' and put it between the wheel well and tailgate to keep important stuff from sliding up to the cab and out of reach. It worked great till some kids took it out and burned it for firewood! I got really upset about that. I know it was just a piece of wood but my brothernlaw cut it out of a rough cut piece of oak before he passed away. They were gone early the next morning I found pieces of it in their fire pit. Lucky for me they left early. Hope your idea works out! Have a good day!
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Oh wow......yeah, it's just a hunk of wood, but some things become special like that. I would have been upset too.... Good idea. I think I'll try to figure out something like that.

Good morning Gary! As promised, I was thinking of you on Saturday. We had our big family Thanksgiving then, 40 people ate. The reason I mention it is that we ended up with 3 pecan pies, other cakes, cookies, puddings, pies and so on. I think of you anytime I eat pecan pie. Have a blessed day, my friend. Good luck catching some wolves. PB

That's right, another benefit I hadn't thought of. Have a good one, of free speech in that zone, lol. We got our first ground cover here in Newfoundland morning before last. It was the first time the vehicle needed scraping/brushing, first shovel on the deck and again the annual getting winter tools aboard. Not real cold yet though, much as you guys are getting (reportedly) but a great sunny morning now with the bluest of skies. Not a lotta that this year (could stand a whole lot more.

Looks great! One suggestion: the little push button closest lights would allow you to just push the button when you want to look for something. You can stick them on to the inside. They put out a good amount of light and run on batteries. Just an idea.

That's a great idea! It is really dark inside. It needs something. I suppose I could wire a 12 volt bulb from the truck battery too.....but with my luck, I'll forget and leave it on. End up with a dead battery in the truck....

Another beautiful sunrise. 🌅 Last week, when you first mentioned covering the back of your truck, I was thinking that it would be ideal if you could make it look like a "covered wagon", but somehow keep it from flapping in the wind (more rigid). I suppose if it was possible, someone would have done it by now... Oh well. 😕

Well done on your bed cover. I would have done a couple things different but it would cost more. If you had some pvc for your top support you could make them a bit long and when installed beside your metal supports would bend upward to encourage draining I think. Wrap the lower sides around something like a 1x4 then attach it to your uprights should tighten that up stop the flapping. Those bungee cords are gonna eat through your paint fast. However, this is all armchair quarterbacking from someone not doing the job. What you have done is fantastic sir!!

Morning !!! Those mountains sure awesome with the fresh snow on yesterdays vid ! Good fix on the shell for truck bed. Could you use a board as a slat , using screws only in eyes of tarp to hold the bottom in place ? I've had good results using slats to fasten tarps down. Keeps the wind from getting under them.
@MuskratOutdoorsКүн бұрын
Good Morning! They sure are. Maybe? I hate to put holes in that tarp, but I could just screw it down too. I guess I'll see how this does first.
