yeah in their timeline the real villains were patrick and spongebob, they freed manray, which i guess wasn’t totally bad but it showed that pat and sponge might not be the type of people who should be around that stuff. then they take them back to the past, reverting the good they did with manray, leaving them defenceless, and then abandoning them to die, in the world they created. did more than any of the real villains in the show, and they weren’t even trying 😭😭

I always thought Man-Ray was the original Barnacle Boy turned evil. His nose is smaller, he's muscular and humanoid, wanted to be a good person, and in another episode, old Barnacle Boy turns evil and fights against Mermaid Man and the others.

I remember wondering if Man Ray, Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy are humans, as they live with the sea creatures and are able to breathe in water. Also they have roughly the same or similar size to the other characters, and we can see in the Spongebob movie that Spongebob and the other main characters are only like 10 to 15 cm in size, which means that Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy must have a similar size.

There was an experiment that was done where this dude rang a bell right before feeding his dog. After a while, whenever the dog heard the bell, it would drool and expect food, basically, the training of association of a sound or a feeling with a certain thing. Another example would be when George Costanza would eat food While having sex, and eventually started feeling aroused while eating food. Therefore SpongeBob and Patrick (possibly unknowingly) reprogrammed ManRay's mind to associate evildoing with tickle torture.
