I've got a 2017 Ford Fusion SE. A/C is fine, but only heat on driver side and cold air on pasenger side. Hope same culprit as in your video. Thanks for a professional tutorial step by step. 👍

Thanks. Good info. Those Phillips screws are PH2. I bought a 1/4 hex drive ratchet and bit set on Amazon to get them out. I bought Horusdy's kit. I was able to get the bootom screw out with my standard 1/4 socket ratchet set, a long extension and a universal. The Horusdy small ratchet did the upper screw. . Subscribed to your channel. Yeah, that’s a separate actuator that controls the blend door panel.

hi! for the future, please show the full process. you did not show how to remove the under part of the glovebox. this made it hard to reach the actuator to unscrew it. other than that, great video.

I called myself following your video and fixing my issue however when I plug in the new actuator and change the climate on the passenger side it doesn't move and this is the second one any suggestions?

It’s hard to say without actually being there first hand, but if the actuator still isn’t working, then there may either be a wiring issue or the actual control unit is failing would be my guess. Or the door itself may be stuck or broken.

Since it's not a dual climate control ... Can a broken blend door actuator cause vent coming out cold from one side and hot from the other? Do u know if that's possible? Or only on dual systems

I have a single zone 2013 Ford Fusion SE one side is shooting cold and driver side is shooting hot. Would that still be the actuator? And is it also located behind glove box or would it be on driver side? Thank you.

On single zone models like this one, the only actuator is being the glove box. If it’s a duel zone system, there is an actuator up in the dash on the drivers side. However, if you have a single zone model and you’re getting different temperatures from opposite sides of the dash, the issue may be deeper than an actuator. There might be something wrong inside the HAVC box.

@@MichaelAdamsRocks would you be able to elaborate about the HVAC box? I have cold air coming out of one vent and the rest are hot but I hear the actuator working and when I switch to heat the cold vent gets hot. I'm at a loss

Mine has warm air on the driver side, and semi cold on the passenger. I tried to change the blend door actuator on the driver side; however, the old one I thought was broken worked just as well as the new one, so I don't think the driver side was the problem. Im about to swap the passenger side actuator. wish me luck.

Nope. Things have gotten out of hand. I have to bring it to a mechanic. I’m having trouble getting the passenger side blend door back on. I have to alter the temps tire by hand. They charged my a/c and said I should be good. However, a month later, there was, again, warm air on the driver side and cold on the passenger.

Darn , I was hopeful to read a better outcome . I’m having the same issue. Took out actuator on passenger , waiting for part , meanwhile car won’t start..(after replacing the hard to reach driver side actuator to find out that wasn’t the issue)

Possibly. The actuator could have died in the heat position.

The other temperature actuator (I believe) is on the opposite side of this one, so it would be on the driver’s side of the center stack.

I've had a replacement 4 times same side. 2017 Ford Fusion 2.7. Just replaced mine and put a new air filter in.. Ford has the crappiest blendure motors.

I have hot and cold air, the fans work fine. I can not get any air to blow out the defroster. Air does come out the vents and floor just fine. Full blast or slow. Just no defroster. Do you think this actuator is the problem?

Not this one, but there is a blend door actuator that would be responsible for that. It’s usually deeper into the dashboard.
