My #1 Exercise for Knee Pain | Qigong + Finnish Logging

I share the #1 most effective exercise I used to save my knees from years of damage due to overzealous Yoga in my early 20s, and some bad advice from martial arts instructors in my mid 20s. This technique has been used for centuries in East Asia to prevent knee pain and deterioration with huge societal success. Ben Patrick AKA Knees Over Toes Guy added some resistance techniques he learned from Finnish logging traditions that seem to add even greater benefit. Hope this helps you as much as it did me!

Well, Nick, because of your comments in the past, I have been walking backwards outside for about a week. I go for about 1 km in one or two parts of my walk. I notice where my feet go ( toes first) and have also noticed that I start to "feel" a bit of not quite discomfort in my hips and knees -- no pain, just awareness really. The surprise is that when I go forwards afterward, I seem to re-orient my balance. No pain or diziness , just different. Thank you for more clarity here and I plan to do this a lot more. Way to go, Nick !

This is very exciting Nick. Thank You!! I was joking with a friend that at 60 I am just learning how to really walk up and down a flight of steps! This backward walking should be another layer of help.

I love Qigong and recently been incorporating ATG stuff into my morning practice. I did not know that KOTG got it from east Asian culture. Amazing how it's come full circle! Beautiful work Nick, nuff respect from northwest England

Hello Nick. Thanks for the tips. I have been walking backwards for a few years now. On slopes in town, or in nature. Either just for fun, but also because it was less painful on the knees! I didn't know about these exercises. I suppose if one does them regularly, it does help blood flow in the knee joints. I'll try and do them more often. Thanks for confirming the back walk! 😉 And interesting detail of the Finnish loggers! 👍

brother be as grateful as possible for having the privilege of being in a cold place that appears to have snow. I live in Brazil and here it is literally almost impossible to be even close to this one....From this incredible reality of being in front of the snow and a colder climate, for me it would be incredible. It is a dream to be and live in a place like this. Thanks for the video and for your willingness to bring it up,to the public for us. Thank you very much! Bring techniques and exercises related to the person who is starting total seminal retention. Gratitude brother.

20 years ago I lived next door to a family from China, every evening they would walk the neighborhood backward. Now I understand why. Both my knees are wambly from each being sprained one from yoga, the other from skiing. Qi gong really helped, especially Lee’s Iron shirt. Thanks for this Nick, I can’t wait to go out and try it this evening!

Try going down stairs backwards. It doesn't strengthen the knees, but it reduces the stress immensely.
