I've gravitated toward reducing my watch collection this year to just a few pieces that I'm really into, instead of a large number of pieces that I sometimes feel like wearing. It has really made me stop and appreciate each piece for what it is and what it offers. I've also gotten into knives and flashlights as well. It's crazy how much flashlight technology has improved in the last 10-15 years. My tiny little AA powered light completely blows away any old flashlight I've had in the past.

6:05 fountain pens are, like watches and smartphones, graded according to their tier. There are some low midrange ones by reputable companies like Parker themselves that are very affordable. Having owned some 7 fountain pens, three of them that were inherited from a relative who passed away, I can tell you that even old ones that have not been used in 20 years do not leak unless they have been mistreated in some way, the way any item would after being improperly used. As a former school principal, I used to write a lot, and I switched to fountain pens full time during my last two years of that position and, let me tell you, despite the fact that there definitely is a learning curve (specially for lefties, since we may smear the still-wet ink), the feeling of gliding the pen tip over paper is unmatched. I had to switch back to ballpoint for a few days and the STRAIN on my wrist was noticeable. The con of using fountain pens is that you have to carry a spare cheap ballpoint anyhow, in case someone wants to borrow a pen from you (lending fountain ones leads to people damaging the tips, due to inexperience). Great content, as usual

Really well done, TGV. Loved that you spent more time talking about the art on the phone cover than the phone itself. I also use the phone as a tool, but am not entirely keen on it's ball and chain qualities. I carry a Gerber Shard everyday as well. It might be of interest to know that the Shard is airport friendly and is an excellent way to have some useful tools at the ready when other tool options would not be permitted. I love my rings as well. I have long thought of having a signet ring made, but I fear I wouldn't wear it too often. My wife had a custom ring made for me after my Navy retirement, and that with my wedding ring suits me for now. HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY, MY FRIEND! At least I got it in within the month. I discovered a new pen this year. I have always been a Cross pen guy, but sadly it seems that supply of refills has gotten problematic. I looked hard at the Parker Jotter, but I have found it hard to find the metal barreled versions. I am not keen on the lightness of the plastic versions. I discovered the Rotring 600. It is absolutely splendid. Rock solid - made like a tank, unique and accepts an endless array of refills ( same refills as the Jotter). Interestingly, Fisher, who make the Spacepen, make refills that fit both the Rotring and Parker. So if anyone has a Rotring or Jotter but wants the capabilities of the Spacepen.....that is doable for about $6. The Roman coin pendant, while it wasn't the first time I had seen it, it is stunning. Loved the new Carl Friedrik wallet. Looks excellent. As for knives, I received a Laguiole from my son for Christmas, and you are absolutely correct ....they are wonderful. My everyday knife is a Cold Steel TiLite or Benchmade. My backup is usually my Leatherman MUT. Totally agree that the GMT is fantastically useful. Also, have found myself extremely content with my collection for now as well. Good to hear you are like wise. Really happy to hear you are doing well so far this year. Thanks for the excellent content as always. Looking forward to what's next! Be well. Onward and upward.

To be honest you really don't need to spend a lot of money or have great handwriting to enjoy a fountain pen. You can always get something like a Pilot Metropolitan in the $30 price range, and they're great writers, just make sure you're using a good enough paper to handle the water based ink. The compactness is achieve with a hinged spring where the arms attach to frames. I have 4 pairs of glasses with 4 cases.

I find an IFAK usually doesn’t have anything for an injury less than a sucking chest wound, and with twin 9yo boys, I patch a lot of bicycle crash road rash, falls from trees, or stepping on something sharp. When I expect to need one I bring a Leatherman C33 knife, other than that I travel light. For portable music I only do so if bringing my backpack, Hifiman HM-901 MP3 player and some Denon closed back full headphones. They're bulky but there's nothing portable even now that sounds as good and prevents other people in an office having to endure noise from my enjoyment. A lot of people just don't consider the effect noise leakage from open back headphones and many earplugs has on other people in a quiet environment.

That's what I like about your EDC videos, there's always something for me to reconsider about my own EDC my favourite knife is a Benchmade 940 for indoor and a Victorinox Classic for out and about, for pens one of 3 Fisher space pens, and for a tourch an Olight Batton 2 or 3 and as a small backup A olight i1R2 Pro. I have to say those earbuds look good so I ordered a pair as my old set is an apple product and getting old.

I now have the NITECORE T4K. A 4000 lume torch that I carry. Amazing for turning night into day.

Yes, especially the last year of touring of his life. The Aztec calendar also looks like the old sun records label. Came full circle for EP . His numerical number is “8”.

You should check out the Mercator k55k black cat. Lots of history, old school construction. Classic and cheap. Great simple knife.

My edc is pretty simple watch, keys, wallet and depending on where I'm OLight single AA flashlight and Boker knife. There are a couple other knifes but they're even more purpose driven, the Boker is a nice single hand daily option. Wallet is the leather Big Skinny, its unparalleled thinness makes it irreplaceable. My current one is maybe 8 years old and going strong. If something happened, I'd have the identical wallet on order within 10 minutes. All wallets are inferior to the leather Big Skinny. Keys are just the car key and a empty ring so it can be hung. Anything else makes them bigger than they need to be. Watch like most TGV viewers is in constant flux.

I bought a leatherman Free and have been carrying it quite a bit. Easy to open and use one handed. I carry the pouch upside down so gravity drops it into my hand.

I carry a Benchmade griptilian (but no serration stonewashed sheepsfoot thumb hole) as well, wonderful utility knife. Currently wearing a Tissot PR100 with PM80 on a black and grey Bond strap, a stainless Jerusalem cross Signet ring, also wear a custom bolt action pen with stainless steel and cocobolo. Ofcourse EDC is dominated by my Sig 9mm, 1000 lumen Streamlight, CDH wave open Karambit, and TCCC derived gunshot wound kit including CAT, Cellox gauze, 3.5" shears, 11mm gloves, 14g chest cath needle, pair of vented chest seals, and an NPA.

My EDC: - Olight O-pen 2 pro in orange, Its a bloody nice pen plus a rechargeable led flashlight and laser pointer in a nice somewhat slim package. I love it. Its heavier then my jptter but its so handy. I have a few of these in different version but the latest is my fav. - A small Olight Baton 3 LED flash light in red. Great small flashlight. As with my O-pen2 its in bright colors cause I've discovered (and probably others) that when you need a flashlight nothing is worse in the dark like trying to find a BLACK flashlight, 😅 - My knife as always lately is the Boker Urban trapper with wood handle scales. Great knife that usually doesn't draw looks of disaproval. - My multitool (when not working) is my Victorinox Alox Pioneer or farmer. Those knurled? aluminium handle scales are fantastic and the weight is ok. - My Multitool (working) is my Leatherman Wave+. I can fix my glasses, fix a computer all the way to turn a bolt o a tractor with those plus they are not as obnoxiously heavy as some multi tools.😅 I don't carry it when not working cause its still like carrying a brick compared to a medium sized Victorinox. So from the above I don't always carry all of these at once but I ALWAYS have my keychain. On my keychain/lanyard (I'm disabled hence the tacky lanyard) I've got a wistle, a small leatherman squit, an Olight i1R 2 in orange (fantastic light is so powerful rechargeable and yet so small), a collapsible pen, and and a small pain pill bottle for emergencies (chronic back pain). As too watches my every day are depending on how I feel or what I might need. These are the ones that I can wear all day that don't effect my arthrities/nerve sensitive in my hands, - Casio Protrek PRW-6600y-1a9cr. Love the watch and its capabilities. I might be getting a titanium PRW-60T to go with it. - Seiko SafArnie SNJ031. I love that green and the movies Arnold wore this series of watches in.😅 - Casio Protrek PRW-30-1A. Its my only JDM. - Casio Gshock solar 5600 on a combi bracelet. Casio REALLY needs to offer more watches on combi bracelets, They are sooo comfortable! - My Citizen Promaster Nighhawk BlueAngles on a bracelet. I have other watches of course but I really like to get watches I'm not scared to scratch up. This year I'd really like to get a Protrek Prw-60T or Prw-70t (both have titanium bracelets) and a Casio Gshock GST-B300E or GST-B200. I'm a huge solar watch fan and nobody does it like Casio as far as I'm concerned,

sound quality and convenience of airpods are hard to beat. I wouldn't call myself an audiophile or anything but the airpods are some of the widest and most realistic sounding in-ear headphones I've used.

Your missing a pistol but besides that, great list. Lately I edc a Wilson Combat EDC X9S or Bul Armory SAS2 Viper. The 3.25inch barrel 2011 are quite nice.
