My American Dad's First Meal In Vietnam

In this food travel vlog, my dad and I eat his first Vietnamese meal on his 2023 trip to Vietnam. We eat some banh xeo (bánh xèo) at the same place Anthony Bourdain tried when he had this dish in Saigon.

For hygienic and good manner reasons you should dip your Banh Xeo in your individual small bowl and never in the big bowl of sauce which is for the whole group to share .

Order one for your dad man. Fold the bánh xèo in half then you cut that in pieces like piza slices or smaller then wrap in lettuce yummy. Thèm quá đi!

Love goi cuon, it's hard to find a bad one in VN. Can't get down with banh xeo though, maybe I just haven't had a good one yet

Try to find a Central-style banh xeo seller and see if you like it better. Their banh xeo are smaller, they oft times wrap all the veggies and banh xeo in rice paper (makes it easier to eat), and their dips are way different. Banh xeo, as with most Vietnamese foods that are wrapped, should utilize lots of fresh herbs to bring out all the different aromas and textures.
