You’re weird for not rating Max. Gaethje is great but his power is overrated and that’s all people were speaking about like Max ain’t top 5 toughest mofos in UFC history, Gaethje caught Poirier with a head kick but his other finishes were against chinny guys like James Vick. Also charisma doesn’t equal skill so Max being chill means nothing when he is the man who holds more records at 32 then any other UFC fighter, he’s grown up inside the UFC and might just be in his prime now.

Gaethjes power isn’t overrated I’d say. He’s definitely one of the hardest hitters at 155. Even khabib has said the hardest punch he ever took was against gaethje. But you can’t hurt what you can’t hit and Holloway absolutely put on a masterpiece of a performance. You don’t have to put down gaethje to boost Holloway. Holloway just put on a clinic against one the the best and hardest strikers currently at 155

To beat Pereira on the feet you need the threat of the takedown which Aspinall offers, kick-boxing for kick-boxing he wipes the floor with everyone apart from Adesanya, I think the fight against Jamaal hill shows how high level of a kick-boxer Adesanya is, everyone else Pereira’s fought has looked way out of there league on the feet

Perriera gave Hill nothing but pressure he gave him the first round to feel him out if he overwhelmed him with strikes hed of panic grabbed very clever even denying the foul because he sensed the momentum. @@Darth_BNT Did you see what he was able to do to his lead leg in a matter of minutes? It was the natural size and power of Jiri that kept him in the fight, skill for skill Pereira showed he’s on a different level to Jiri, even against Rakic he was launching himself at him with his chin up in the air, you can’t do that against Pereira

At least tom is a guy who understands leg kicks. Jiri clearly still doesn't and Jamahal didn't have time to worry about it. Also Jiri and Hill were both coming straight back from injuries let's not forget this. My only fear for Tom is that he tries to prove he can beat Pereira on the feet. 85% he just takes him down and rips his arm off. Tommy's pretty good at ignoring the twitter noise that would call him scared for going not fighting it out on the feet.

Max has never been short of elite. He’s literally been either champ or #1 contender for 8-9 years straight at this point. During that time he’s only lost to volk at featherweight and porier after moving up in weight on short notice. He solidified himself as a hall of famer after beating Aldo the second time in 2017. He’s been a goat. He is a volume puncher not known for his power tho so I bet big on gaethje thinking it was gonna look like the second dustin fight and found out we haven’t even been seeing him at his best. As a true LW with a full camp he’s got it all. I wish he would stay at 55 after seeing that, but I know he’s too much of a G to not go back down for topuria. I'm also a new fan of Max. I didn't really appreciate his brand of humor. But he has dramatically improved his mic skills; his post fight speech in the cage was amazing. And the first thing he did when he won is praise Justin Gaethje. Other fighters need to learn from Max about how to have humility when you win. He is such a humble, respectful fighter.

I agree about Hill. I said the same thing as I was watching. He looked tentative, reaching and such. Pereira, the entire time looked like he was just measuring him up, and he new exactly what he was going to do next when he shook off Herb. Unrelated: IMO, Conor gets starched in the first round by Chandler.

Max Holloway already had a Hall of Fame Resume before this fight. Within the first minute of you talking about considering him „not one of the elite of the elite“ shows us where you stand as a fan of the sport. Glad you’re coming around though 😊

The skepticisim of max is pretty mind boggling max has had such domniate performances against such elite opponents hes lost to volk which is a hard style and dustin at lw ya who is an elite fighter to say you didint think max was cream of the crop is crazy Also jiri already faught alex but i agree it would be a fun fight. one more thing another really weird take was to refer to max spinning back kick as "Conor mcgergor kicks" Is so strange considering conor doesnt throw them like max at all and max has used that spinning back kick to deadly affect a few times nows its a max holloway esc back kick not mcregor. conor throws his going forword max waits for the opponent to come in and slams them in the face or head with it

The skepticism has definitely been wierd. Holloway was no more than 20 when he fought Conor and not much older when he fought Porier. The second Porier fight was on like 10 days notice and Chubby. Meanwhile he dominated everyone not named Volkanovski within his own division, including a couple of beatdowns on maybe the top Featherweight champ of all time Jose Aldo. Conor could not make 155 anymore. I am not sure he can hit 170. Jose Aldo was a much bigger star in Brazil than Silva. Silva is Brazilian but he made his legacy in Japan. The difference in ovation in Brazil for Aldo compared to Silva is really steep. Aldo is revered over there. Bobby Green vs Pimblett is a perfect matchup.

It'll never happen but JBJ v. Pereira at heavyweight is the fight I really want to see. Weili Zhang beat Yan twice in one fight....pure bad-ass. I had Max from the moment the fight was announced. I'm wrong as often as I'm right picking fights but I had this one pinned down solid. I was hoping Miller would pull out a win but damn, Bobby Green looked good.Bobby Green v. Paddy is a great fight and a really great call out.

You sound like you’re a bit new to mma and the UFC. You should watch more of it cause Max Holloway is arguably one of the greatest Featherweights of all time! And has so many iconic moments like the one against Calvin Kattar and etc. Calling his opponents to the centre of the octagon isn’t new
