I just received my Apple lightning/HDMI dongle and pared it with a double ended HDMI Cable to the TV. It worked like a flash.

You don’t know what that is. It’s a screen casting device like a firestick or chrome cast. And it does work. It was probably never setup on a home tv first.

on the dnx773s are you not able to have mirroring and apple car play set up together in the settings? i can only seem to be able to have on of them set up. If i want to use the HDMI i won't be able to use car play at all because i have to totally disconnect it from the settings and vise a versa. Do you guys know why or do you have a solution?

+Anthony Messina The reason why is the Lightning to HDMI cable does not pass data over the lightning input. It is for charge only, which means it can not do CarPlay when plugged in.

i understand that part, but for some reason i can only have one of these options. I can't use car play because in the settings i have it set up for HDMI and it won't let me change the settings to where i can have car play selected when i have my phone plugged in just through the usb cable. It's strange and I'm not sure if its something i did wrong or if its something with the radio.

Resolution for ONTEN Lightning To HDMI Dongle Firmware Upgrade for iOS higher versions 9.8 & above: Please download related APP from app.onten.com.cn/app/index.html Then connect your dongle to working iOS lower version device (used old iPad) and go to above app AmaLink and select the right series of your dongle and download latest version ex - S500F2A1LG004V021 and update. This will update the firmware and you can see the iPhone screen with higher versions like 13.2 & above on other big screen devices.

TBW mine works for KZbin, Hulu, bravo tv app, Crunchyroll that’s all I can think off the top of my head, I’ve had mine for years (5-6) originally it would mirror any app but after awhile I’m assuming apple did something in their updates through the years it stopped supporting it and like you said I would only get sound. It does however let me watch and mirrors anything if I’m streaming through safari.

You have to admit $50 for that adapter makes it's tempting to get one on Amazon that is $15 if you don't know any better. The aftermarket crap almost never works unless it's MFI certified then it will usually work.

True Apple owners/fans will not buy cheap or eBay/Amazon accessories such as these Lightning to HDMI adaptors. Speaking for myself and i`m an Apple fan, I always buy accessories like these from the Apple store and are Apple branded.
