I've had 5 Wrights. And 0 Harrisons. I'd get a knife from Ashley, but as I've said, I don't have Instagram. The Wrights have been nice enough. (None came sharp). Two of them had backsprings that snapped. The others were fine when it came to gapping. Virtually everything about the others are perfect. The Ettrick is my favourite. You should try one! 👍All in all, A. Wright seems to have had problems in the past, but they seem to be drastically improving. My best hopes to their success.

As we’ve talked before. Ashley’s knives are fantastic!!! You’ve seen mine but in case anyones reading this, I use mine strictly for food prep and a steak knife, and it’s getting a wonderful patina. Definitely worth trying to get one. I’m in America and I have plenty of options over here, but I’ll tell ya, you won’t find one here in the states for what Ashley’s cost. And personally I like his knives more than what I find here in the U.S., and I’m a pretty hardcore “only U.S. made knives in my collection” type of guy. But if it’s an Ashley then I want it! Lol

I’m glad I introduced you to Ashley! Which was the one I got him to make you, wasn’t it a spearpoint? Wright’s have been around since 1947, and Michael Harrison was their production manager before he and Ashley took over just 3 years ago. I first came across him when I berated him on Instagram for Wright’s perennial shonky build quality. Rather than taking it badly, he told me about what he and Michael were up to, and their plans to improve quality and rebuild their reputation. They’ve really improved things, particularly with their stock knives and the specials that they do for the likes of the Famous Sheffield Shop and Moonraker Knives. Incidentally, that tang stamp that Ashley uses is called the Candelabra stamp.

I'm in my mid 50s. I like to think I know a few things. Yet every day something shows me I don't know nothing. My family being machinist I've a good knowledge of steel and old blades. That one knife with the saw is amazing. Anyway beautiful collection you have there. I'm not a custom knife person especially on my salary I'm lucky I can afford a plastic butter knife with our idiot an chief in power. Oh well tomorrow is another day maybe my ship will come in.

Probably belt knives,which where made in Sheffield, numerous designs which were sold all over the world.

James, yes they ship to the US, I live in Iowa, and it got here rather fast when I was able to snag one. I think within a week from start to finish and then to my door.

Hi paddy iv bought 2 A Wright stag cover Barlows this year one clip point the other spear point both great quality .Also an Eye Witness pearl single blade Barlow at £180 pricey but worth every penny ,and available unlike GEC which I would love if not so hard to get.Keep up the great work
