Wanted to move to Japan after the marine corps in 2020 but it was closed to all foreigners, so I started to do research and Mexico city caught my eye when I went home to Alaska. When I visited the city I loved it so much three months later I sold everything and moved back to mexico. Been here ever since. But I ended up acquiring temporary residency for 4 years and will get permanent after that with zero issues thankfully.

You touched on all the reasons that I cannot wait to put Canada in the rearview mirror! The moment my business is stabilized enough to run entirely virtually, I am on the next flight out. Of course, that will be a private flight, since our current government feels it is their job to punish people who don't share their views on health procedures. As you might guess, the desire to be left alone is a huge driver in my very long list of reasons! I am also no longer comfortable paying taxes to a regime like ours. Whether it is giving giant payoffs to convicted terrorists, or funding programs that actively demonize the people who helped turn Canada into a pleasant and functional place to live, I simply cannot keep funding this nonsense. And of course more sunshine and warm breezes!!

I don't have kids but I got destroyed in family law court when divorced. I have to pay $3k in Alimony until 2025, My ex took everything, savings, 401k, and court in California on top of that awarded attorney fees paid by me, $60k in credit card debt. Its being 2 years rebuilding and clearing at least my debt to get the hell out of US and start life again hopefully this year. Since I'm considered upper middle class, the IRS is literally chasing every penny they can take away from me. Now alimony cannot be deducted!!! So while I lose 30% of my net income due to the divorce, I still have to pay taxes on it and my ex doesn't. I left 14 years ago for similar reasons: 1) freedom, 2) opportunities, 3) War industrial complex and an education a university can not provide, for less money. I'm not the ambitious entrepreneur you are and much of your financial advice and information doesn't relate to my financial standing, but, surprisingly, we agree on the fact that taxes in America do not have a good return for it's citizens. I also agree 100% regarding the embassy services for citizens: they are generally useless to Americans abroad regardless of how dire the situation is. So I don't want my taxes (which is to be an investment for the citizens) to assist in funding that black hole. Anyway, thank you for this channel. I have learned much from it even if it doesn't pertain to my socio-economic standing.

taxes in germany aren't that bad. rents are cheaper but food is marginally more expensive, it's still cheaper all in all though yeah murrican food is sooooooo cheap. cheap foods in germany are beer, sauerkraut, pork is the least expensive meat, fruit juices the same, milk products the same or a bit cheaper, bread is the same basically it's the gourmet foods which are more expensive and the less popular ones: germans eat more pork and less beef. I mean food outside the United States is on average healthier. With exceptions for very few places, the cost of living is lower. In a fairly significant part of the world Internet access is cheaper and faster. In a majority of the world, people are far less likely to take as many risks with negative impacts on your health and well being as Americans do. In a majority of countries on earth you are about 10x less likely to be the victim of a murder, or severely injured do to violence. In a significant number of countries you are far less likely to require a car to live, further reducing your cost of living and your carbon footprint even if you travel by air a lot, because your percentage of the emissions from a commerical flight are miniscule. A large percentage of countries give you the opportunity to improve or maintain neural plasticity by exercising your brain learning a new language and many of these countries are small with neighbors who offer an opportunity to learn yet another language. Your healthcare costs will dramatically drop and in many countries not only will those costs drop, the level of care will dramatically improve too. The fact that you can walk more easily as your primary mode of transportation in many countries will improve a large percentage of Americans overall health.

I dislike the term "lower your taxes" and prefer it to be "get more value for your money." Nations where there are high taxes usually have miserable and angry residents. "Lower your taxes" or what I prefer to say "better taxation", that is based on what you buy or what you use, rather than what you earn, is a by-product of a happier environment. So I agree, the western legacy countries are full of nasty, jealous people who resent us for daring to leave for a better life and my reason for moving abroad is to be around happier, friendlier people, more freedom and a better quality of life. If you find such a place, the chances are the taxes are more progressive anyway.

If you are a US citizen, just get a 1041 complex irrevocable trust where 1 of the 3 is a family trust and all expenses; food, travel, utilities, entertainment, everything is a deduction against the income. then each trust donates into the next. Then when less than 10% is left over use a 990 PF foundation that can then make a loan back to the biz trust. Next level system. Very special and unique! internationally recognized!

If you earn in USD, Argentina and Turkey are heaven because the local currencies are turning into toilet paper and dollars are in extreme demand. You can get High quality products and services that you would find in Western Europe for 5-10X cheaper.

@@as-1982 Learning the language is essential if you want to integrate. Once you learn 1 foreign language it is easier to continue with others. I teach Spanish to Adults in Fairfax County ACE program and it is easy to see that students that already know a foreign language can learn faster. Spanish, French and Portuguese share a lot in common. Trying to learn some Arabic before going to Egypt in September

I like Andrew and all...But most of his advice is only good if you are ALL of the following: - White -“Christian” - Born in the US (not naturalized) If you are not ALL of the things (above), a US passport maybe the only reason you’re even part of this conversation or invited to this party. If you are not the right color and religion, Eastern Europe may be a whole different experience for you. Andrew can easily make a video one day with the title “Why I got my US citizenship back?” and that would be that. They gave the US passport back to Lee Harvey Oswald after he had defected to the USSR. Not a situation where you wanna be a Latino, for example

Definitely helps if you are white though. I'm not and though you get all the other things like freedom to do what you want and a new perspective, you don't get the easy friendships. People assume you are the "help" despite being the boss. UK citizen. Sad it's that way, maybe in another generation or two.
