It's always interesting to see how a manga reader's taste in novels overlaps and differs from their taste in manga. I think the His Dark Materials series (the golden compass) is something you might enjoy if you've not read it, and if you wanna try some fantasy works ! Its YA but it really holds up lol

thank you for the recommendation!! i am trying to broaden my novel reading horizons for sure

love your videos so much! i started watching for all your manga content and couldn't have been more excited to see you getting into novels as well since i also love to read a mix of both :-) 'i'll give you the sun' by jandy nelson and one of adam silvera's other works called 'more happy than not' truly shaped my early high school experience and i have fond memories of them all these years later so i hope you enjoy their works!!

i’m enjoying the book content! the struggle of ignoring the books on your shelf to go to the library is real 😅 i love the goldfinch, it’s one of my favorite books and i definitely recommend, but it’s not really a satire on rich people so you might be disappointed if you go in expecting that! i also feel like you might enjoy little fires everywhere or everything i never told you by celeste ng!
@tsukkinotes10 ай бұрын
yay i'm glad!! and thanks for the heads up 👁 i'll manage my expectations then,, and i have read little fires everywhere and enjoyed it a lot! (i even watched the show adaptation but that was ... bad) thank you for the recommendation of her other book! i'll have to check it out

It's always interesting to see what other people like. I'm personally not really into contemporary. I actually prefer fantasy xD Nice collection ^^

“the kiss quotient” is the first book of the kiss quotient series (the bride test, the heart principle) and “the goldfinch” is actually donna tarts second (maybe third¿¿) book! her debut novel was “the secret history” which is absolutely bonkers to me cause it’s such a good book! i’ve recommended this book to you a few times now but i think you’d really love “the house in the cerulean sea” it’s such a heartwarming book with found family and a hint of an LGBT romance which is just immaculate. “i’ll give you the sun” is also a great read. lovely collection and great video! :)

thank you so much! and omg i got the books totally out of order for that series, i'll keep my eye out for the first one. and really???? that is wild that the secret history is a debut 👁 hopefully i can get to cerulean sea and i'll give you the sun this year!! maybe i'm on track by owning them lol

I haven’t read it but when you said you love story’s about dululu rich people i thought maybe you’d like the book Magnolia Parks

you know, i’d think so too but i feel like the main couple would be way too toxic for her taste. idk i could be wrong though!

bro I miss Borders so much, little me would run to the kids section and look at diary of a wimpy kid and the warrior cats series section (and fast forward to 24 year old me who is literally collecting ALL of the Warrior Cat books. please don't ask me how many books are in this series oh my god) I think you should read House in the Cerulean Sea! I remember you mentioning liking stories that focused around children and their stories and I haven't read it, but that book focuses on magical children and from what I hear it's super wholesome. also Circe, bc I recently read Song of Achilles and I would like to read Circe this year too!!!
@tsukkinotes2 ай бұрын
ahh yes thank you for the recommends! as of now i own cerulean sea and circe but they are stuck on my endless tbr lol

Have read anything written by the goddess of Romance Jane Austen? Even though her books are pretty old and from the 19th century, they are still so relatable, relevant and fun to read! My absolute favorite is Pride and Prejudice, but i also love Emma, Sense and Sensibility and Persuasion very much ♥ I was OBSESSED with the Evemore Series by Alyson Noel and had them on my shelf until recently. I tried to reread them to see if i still like them, but nope, i did not :D Didn't even make it past 60 pages because those teenagers were annoying me so much, so i unhauled the whole series lol
@tsukkinotes10 ай бұрын
i read pride and prejudice in school and i've seen the most recent movie adaptation many times lol so i would probably like some of her other books 👁 and omg 😂 maybe i should give the series another try and i'll probably want to unhaul too

I really love this new kinds of videos, I know most KZbinrs kind of have to keep a theme because of the algorithm, but it's super nice to see diversity ❤ would you consider reading the hunger games prequel? It's not as good as the original series but I found it interesting 😊
@tsukkinotes10 ай бұрын
thank you!! and yes ah keeping a consistent brand and whatnot is what yt wants but this year i decided to not care lol and i am interested in reading it! i haven't watched the movie yet but i've been a bit hesitant sinch i wasn't sure if the book was still YA? that can be hit or miss for me
