I never use AutoZone parts and don't recommend them to anyone. Every time I had to use an AutoZone fuel pump or starter, they always failed within a year or two at most. Lifetime warranty doesn't mean you should practice changing their parts.

I use advanced auto parts and Im still on the same fuel pump from 2 years ago

I don't mind. When you register as a business they will pay the labor for you to replace it. Although I have really been using the Rock Auto stuff lately.

When the lights dimmed on acceleration in my car it was caused by the fact that the terminal which was fitted to the positive output post of the alternator was loose & the cable had become cooked. I am not sure what caused that but I made up a new alternator charge cable which has fixed up the headlight dimming problem on wide open throttle in particular !

Yeah, I have shut down my mechanic business. I love working on cars and fixing them, but not for profit. I work on old rusty beaters and do major repairs. Like the loose a timing belt and bend valves. I just do it for parts and a little money to cover supplies and tools. I had a girl that lost a timing chain on a 2.2 Echotech. I offered to pull the head fix the bent valves, flatten it, check the bottom end over, and replace all the timing chain components. I said it will probably be around 4-500. Which I will have 3-400 in parts. I cleared the garage and she was supposed of have it towed Monday. I do KZbin vids on the repairs and I find them fun. Then crickets.... It is now Friday, no car, no text, no call... Nothing, so she has most likely lost her driveway privileges now. I don't know what people are thinking. But the ones that don't communicate need

PRO TIP>>> How to find a misfire- Spray a liquid on the exhaust manifold where it connects to the head. A misfiring cylinder will be cool, and the liquid will not turn to steam. !

You mentioned it be cool to have a parts house in one of your shops one day. I’d say go for it!! before I went out of my own and the last shop I worked for it was a predominantly air-conditioned shop all summer long that’s all we did was air-conditioning. so the owner opened up parts store Inside that sold to the public but mainly to our self. So that way he could get the parts even more of a discount and we’re not talking AutoZone or advance style parts talking GPD fours seasons big brands direct from them. The parts house within sell the repair side the parts and then the repair side would sell customer so all in all he would get both pieces of the pie.
