This chick was desperate from the get go. Desperate to have a relationship, that she accepted a long distance one. Desperate to move in with him that she didn't even meet him ONCE prior to uprooting her life. Desperate to feel wanted, she slept with him as soon as they met. Desperate to feel important to him, that she won't just leave after his BS criticism. Desperate to keep him despite all his red flags that she *LETS HIM CONVINCE HER TO STAY LONGER THAN SHE SHOULD*. That desperation to have a relationship is what makes her judgement on this situation and this guy untrustworthy. Dumb all around, and too spineless to have any self respect and leave. And no, being dumb doesn't make it less tragic if she gets kidnapped and trafficked; but it does highlight how preventable all this could have been.

A lot of these people are MK ULTRA MIND CONTROLLED PUPPETS. Look up Project Paperclip! Monarch & watch Revelations of a Mother Goddess by David Icke on YT. It explains a lot. I've been researching a lot of these things & since I am a Disabled Female Veteran, I do know about some of this crap! I served my country from 1976-1982, USAF. Our Military has been involved in some of this stuff, the higher ranking officers that is. There are people who have been MK ULTRA'D to start riots, some are SUPER SOLDIERS who are programmed to start killing during the END TIME programming AND if they get caught, they're programmed to commit suicide. NOT KIDDING. So this came to mind because of Kathy's erratic behavior. I feel like she's been programmed. BUT, people have their own minds & can think for themselves. "I sold my car and used all of my savings to move in with my bf in another country that I never met irl" Girl... girl... homie... my sister in christ, what the hell were you thinking. The guy being an ass was the least bad outcome that could've occurred in this situation, holy hell (though I wouldn't be surprised if it does get worse). The moment you guys met the relationship deteriorated and is only going further south, there is no point in salvaging the relationship- he got what he wanted and now he's checked out. ETA: I agree with the other comments, take it as a learning experience and move on. Hopefully op doesn't succumb to the sunk cost fallacy now that bf is giving her hope. But she, seems so desperate.

There are valid reasons not to mix personal and professional lives. For some people, it works to blur the lines for others it does not. Neither choice is better than the other nor is either choice any more unacceptable than the other. What is unacceptable is how the co-worker is responding to her choice to keep the two lives separate. If you want them separate then accept the fact that others are not going to live their life as you do. If you do not like the fact that your co-workers are socializing without you then change your view on keeping your personal and professional life separate. But you can not have it both ways.

Story 2: When I was young I met a foreigner on one of the chats from those days (you know, MSN, Yahoo Messenger). We cammed and everything. After 10 months I met him in his country, but I was only on holidays. I never moved in with him. We were aware that we just wanted to meet and have fun. That was it. When we met, yes it's normal to be shy and all that, but we had chemistry. I spent a week sightseeing in his city, he was a real gentleman. Although, I'm not in touch with him anymore, I have the best memories of him. The point is that moving in with him after never interacting in real life is a high risk. The relationship has no foundation because when you're long distance and just camming, you show the best side of your personality, the other person doesn't know about your bad and annoying habits, your smell, nothing.

Story 1: OMG. Okay, so, fun story, I got fired from a job for a post I made on social media. It was almost 10 years ago, and my entire office all got hired at the same time because the company had moved to the states from Canada. We all bonded and friended each other on FB. I am a social media sh!t talker, but I'm not stupid enough to post about people publicly, and even then, I don't ever use real names (I'm internet old, where you don't use your name and face) But then a year in, I made a post, not naming names, in absolute irritation that people were crowded behind my desk making a lot of noise for no good reason. Those people weren't even on my dang FB page and someone else showed them and I got sacked. Booooo. It's why I don't friend coworkers on social media anymore. 🤣 But MAN. I wish I could send that reddit post to the whiny bunch and say SEE I COULD HAVE BEEN SO MUCH WORSE!!!!!

Story 1 was just crappy. I have FB but I mainly use it to play games and to connect with fellow players. That said, it still amazes me the stuff some people post without a care till it comes back and bites 'em. Thanks for the story Mark. Hope you're having a wonderful day.

My little sister tried to do what the last OP did, it would have ruined her life. It took me, our mother and her Father basically ganging up on her to keep her from going. Two years later she's happily engaged and going to marry the love of her life in 2024. I just could not lose my baby sister, my best friend and most wonder person in the world to people I didn't know, never met and across the world were I couldn't be there to help if something happened. I felt so shitty because she was so upset and betrayed but... I just couldn't let her go, not like that anyway. Later she said she was glad that we stopped it because he was controlling and manipulative. I adore her fiance and can't wait to give her away at the wedding! (Yes the big sister is giving her away, long story but I'll fight her dad if I have too lol)

Story 2: a friend of mine did something similar when she was 18 or 19. Just packed all her stuff to go live with her online BF and his family in a different country with a language she didn't really speak in a rural area where she would be dependent on his car after never having physically met him. We were really scared for her and tried to talk her out of it, but to no avail. Luckily, the BF and the family weren't abusive or trying to take advantage. The relationship didn't last, but she was still so lucky in how that turned out...
@tamsel8142 жыл бұрын
I had a classmate in high school who did something similar. Moved to his country straight out of high school. Differences are that I'm not sure if he lives in a rural or city area and that they got married as soon as her plane landed. No idea how is turned out since we were not close. But I was quite concerned for her at the time

Story 1: I never post anything about my work situation on FB. Period. I have the drama queen from my department blocked. I do not hang out with people from work outside of the office. Makes life simpler. Story 2: OP is in a Live and Learn situation. Hope she just chalks it up to experience and gets back home. If she is losing weight, it should be about what she wants for herself, not for anyone else. The LDR guy she went to be with is a manipulative person who will just make her miserable. She needs to get back to where she is comfortable and move on with her life.

Story 1: what did she think was going to happen? Her facebook is public?! She was a moron; who said keep work and private life separate (which yes, I am on all for and understand.) and then spilled the tea?! Story 2: short answer don’t sell all your belongings and spend your savings to one meet your sweetheart for the first time, much less move countries. That said pack up your tattered pride and move on. Don’t try to hope he’ll suddenly change; he clearly fu-ked her over multiple ways.

1: Professional people tend to not want the facebook connections. The had to be there to get it is another you aren't good enough to get it. She is excluded from work chat because of all of their outside events together is all they talk about. She is out of the cliche. The group is acting like high school. What she says on facebook is not appropriate, but they sought out her facebook after she drew a clear line of they weren't supposed to be there. They have the same issue of creating an uncomfortable work environment for those not in their cliche. Block her facebook and stop trying to be connected that way. Don't turn work into talking about the time you had with them the night before so that no one is being shut down trying to know any of them. Look at how OP can't help but run to facebook to find offense. HR shouldn't be reporting what they are scheduling others so HR shouldn't be telling her the weekend schedule. 2: At no point is selling everything to move in with someone you never met smart. She's dumb to believe she is his first too. She souns like she has o idea how any type of relationhip works, not even a friendship. She needs therapy. He likely never meant for her to do what she did. She even went from he wanted to pay her to go home and then stay. Sounds like she could be twisting things to make staying an option.

In the second story, did she say that he managed to nitpick her appearance, clothes, makeup, and the way she breathes, all within the same day of her arrival? Like within daylight hours? So like within I don't know maximum 10 hours? That's a lot of abuse to put someone through in a very short amount of time. Almost feels like he had it pent up and then also wanted to get laid and so did both.

The last one sounded like the "boyfriend" was using human trafficking tactics. Getting a young lady to leave her life downgrades her to make her feel useless then move her. Im scared for her.

This girl and I started at a job at the same time. We became friends for a year I became less popular among our coworkers because I wasn't "like" them. So she told me she wasn't there to make friends in the end. Everyone but her figured out you cant single someone out because you don't " like" their differences. She ended up on the outside. She couldn't get them to trust she was real and not a backstabber. FYI. I wasn't the only one she backstabbed. Everyone realized she couldn't be trusted at all with anything. She made her bed.

Work and outside work: Fine to mix but not be forced to mix. If common agreement to do outside work hangout (bowling, movies, etc) that's fine, but when it becomes "if you don't join the company bowling team you will not get promoted" that's not cool at all.
