Miss Anglophilia

Күн бұрын

It's February and spring is coming to my cottage garden. Join me for my first relaxing breakfast outside to gather some energy for some early spring-time gardening.
No talking required today. :-) If you do have any questions feel free to ask me in the comments.
Please visit my blog www.missangloph... for more inspiration connected to my "favourite island"!
FAQ:
Where are you from?
I am from Bavaria, but I love Britain!! :-)
Why Miss Anglophilia?
At the age of ten, I had my first encounter with the English language at school. My teacher never tired of telling us inspirational stories about culture “on the island”. And that was it - I fell in love with it all! So Miss Anglophilia is me and it has been for many years.
Is this just about England?
As for me, it all started with England which we were taught a lot about at school. I was lucky enough to live in England for a little while during my university years. There, I got to know many lovely people - not only English, but also Scottish, Welsh and Irish. So for me, “anglophilia” doesn’t stop at the English borders.
What does "Servus" mean?
It's a Bavarian word used to greet people that you know and like. :)
I'm not a professional gardener, but I love working and relaxing in my garden. :)

Very nice. What a lovely way to spend the day. Nice breakfast, then a spot of gardening. Break for a cuppa, then a bit more gardening, delightful.

Thank you!! The crocuses sit in a quite sunny spot, they really like that! Well, it was still quite chilly (I had a blanket/ throw with me), but the sun is already quite strong, so I decided to wear a hat! ;)

The daffodils are looking lovely already! I always immediatly think about easter when I see them. 🐰 The sun's already quite strong for February. I got my first little sunburn two weeks ago, but it still can be a bit chilly, so hats off to you for having breakfast al fresco right now. 😁 P.S.: love the toast rack! 😉🍞

Hi Eva ! Thanks again, lovely happy video and sound 👍. I too enjoy having my breakfast, in a sunny spot, in the garden, still a few weeks away for us probably ! 1230 km north west of you, spring has not yet sprung in Scotland. Good work in the garden once you got your sleeves rolled up. I look forward to viewing the progress from time to time !! 🪴 🌸 🪴 🌺 🪴 🌳 🏠. Cheers, Don ;-)

Yes, I'm sure it'll take a few more weeks for spring to arrive where you live! So cool that you looked up how many km there are between us! :) Hope you are well! I'm heading over to your channel in a bit, looking forward to it! :)

You are so diligent with your planting and pruning. I'm with you when it comes to moss (3:49). As Dara can attest, I can't walk past it without touching it. It's fairly rare here in Texas.

Do you have any traditional Bavarian Alpine houses near you. The type with fairy tale people and/or farming paintings on the outside. Or the houses with large snow roofs and balconies and flower boxes. Traditional German/Austrian houses look so nice.
@MissAnglophilia
@MissAnglophilia 3 жыл бұрын
Yes, there are a few houses like the ones you described near me! The closer you get towards the Bavarian Forest the more common they are. I might go on a little trip in spring or summer and show some of them in a video! I already have a video "trip to Bavarian folk museum" where you can see some of these traditional houses, very old. It's an "outdoor museum", very nice to visit! :)

@@MissAnglophilia That would be good. Look forward to that video. I've been skiing a few times in Bavaria and Austria - even as tourist, I really like the area. I'm too old, now but wish I had moved house to your area and now with the stupidity of the UK leaving the EU probably impossible. to re-locate.
