I am a non-denominational Christian, but I am very drawn to Catholic ideology. It seems much more scripturally true and reverent towards Mary and those who were martyred for the faith. The Bible speaks of saints, why don't Protestants believe in them?

Protestants do believe in saints, but like the bible says, ALL believers are saints. It's not a special name for "extra special" believers, but all believers. Catholics practically worship their "saints", not realizing the fact that its simply a term for the whole body of Christ.

Very interesting point. I am similarly non-dominanational. I think the Protestant Church reject a lot of the cultural expressions that other churches embrace.

Thank you Matt for your relationship with Mother Natalia. I have kind of a similar story (This will be a digest version). My parents Baptized me and my two siblings when we were babies. I remember going to Church on Sundays when I was very young. I’m the oldest of the three. My mother was crippled by a spinal cord injury when I was about 7 or 8 years old. There was no formal declaration. But my mother’s injury was enough of a trauma to the family that we just drifted away and stopped going to Church. My siblings and I never received Holy Communion or Confirmation. Fast forwarding. In my Senior year of high school, my maternal grandmother passed away. The funeral Mass was the start of my adult journey to the faith. In my college years, I had a car now and started dating. The issues and break ups compelled me to finally reach out. I went through the RCIA and received First Holy Communion and Confirmation at age 20, going on 21. Fast forward to 2021. Four days after Mother Natalia made her Life Profession to the Monastery, on October 2, 2021 I made my three year Profession in the 3rd Order Dominican Laity. (At age 51 😉 ) I know it’s not the same. But kind of similar. I have been enjoying the clips with Sister/Mother Natalia because I take my Tertiary Profession seriously as did my Patron, Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. Watching these clips are very edifying for me. Thank you. 🙏🙏

I walked out of my parish because they had lost their way. It became a middle class privilege and as a 16yr old could not get over the hypocrisy. Even today I can not connect to the parish. My faith tends to be very private.
