Bob would have had the dash cam hard wired but I wouldn’t sanction the £20-30 expenditure so he had to find another solution 🙂

I have the same one Bob, great bit of kit. I hard wired mine in, there is a kit to do it, much better than the pug in and leave the socket free for other devices. 👍

Same as yours Bob but hard wired. Good bit of kit👍

Got this one a few months back, impressed with it so far. I got it hard wired in and when not in use the wire goes under the windscreen/roof panel. Lots of thefts of dash cams and wires pulled out in Bradford at the moment, no wonder we pay the highest for car insurance 🙄.

@David Taylor. I usually remove mine off its holder when i'm parking up my car anywhere, though i must admit, to forgetting it sometimes and they are a temptation for the bad guys.

We have the Nextbase 212 and it’s very similar but smaller. It’s a good little unit and one tip I found is that the memory card maximum size is 32Gb and anything larger will not work. When I got it I wondered why it wouldn’t record with 128Gb and that was the reason. Trev

Thanks, yes, I've got the 212 for the car, great little dashcam, but didn't know about the card size. Think I've only got a 32gb one in it.

Great setup Bob, you've certainly got it organised. Regards, Bob W.

Hi Bob can you record only what’s in front of the motorhome What about behind you have you looked into this ? I have a reverse camera on the alpine halo 9 head unit it’s a brilliant bit of kit so I think something for the rear would work
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 жыл бұрын
I could do something like that, but it would involve modifying the rear view camera system that's fitted to my Motorhome. I did review a Vantrue Dashcam that has a rear facing camera, but it's not much use as my rear view from the front screen would be us and the bedroom door!

Dash it ! I bought a 512 and after viewing this Bob realise the version you described is pretty much identical ! Did you need to buy another dash cam for the car as the item seems easy enough to fit in a second vehicle ,just buy another charging / wire kit . .?

I got a 212 for the car and I'm using that in the loan Motorhome. I didn't want to have to change the registration number each time I moved it.

Hello Bod, just watched this video and you mentioned buying the 212 for your car. Can I ask what you think of this camera.
@BobEarnshawMoHo5 жыл бұрын
It's fine as a dashcam, good clear 1080p video, doesn't have GPS, so can't show speed.

@@BobEarnshawMoHo Thanks for the quick reply. glad to hear its a good camera.

Nice video Bob! Do you turn the car dash cam on when your towing? Could you hardwire the camera in? Cheers Oliver
@BobEarnshawMoHo6 жыл бұрын
Have a look at our recent arriving at Somers Wood. There's a bit of footage from the car's dashcam behind the 'van. I've also filmed the car following the Motorhome on the A-frame, using the Hero 5 Session. Yes I could buy a 'hardware kit', which connects to a fuse rather than a 12v socket. It's about £20.

How do I turn off the bottom menu when I playback a recording so I can see what speed I was doing
@BobEarnshawMoHo2 жыл бұрын
Don't think you can turn off the menu as it is the controls display. Nextbase do some viewing software, here - www.nextbase.com/en-gb/dash-cam-features/mynextbase-suite/ but I would just view the video on my PC.

I've got the same one and I love it, but it keeps falling of my windscreen. Done all sorts to try and make it stick, but still it swings from its wire! Do you have the same problem and if so, how do you get around it.
@BobEarnshawMoHo6 жыл бұрын
I clean the windscreen with Autogylm Fast Glass.
@hayard616 жыл бұрын
@@BobEarnshawMoHo thanks Bob. I've already tried that, I've used meths, surgical spirit, nil glass. I've used a chammy and newspaper to Finnish off, but it still drops off. 😔

@@hayard61 Ask them for a replacement one, mine has been fine. Maybe it's got a leak.

Same problem with front and rear dashcams. Solved by softening the sucker in very hot water. Whilst still warm press firmly onto clean glass before pushing down the lever. Both been on a couple of weeks and no more problems. If it does I'll glue them.

@Bob Earnshaw At 7:57 you started to talk about the WIFI, you got it wrong, its not in the camera to connect to your home WIFI, it acts like a WIFI hot spot, basically the same as you would find in bars, restaurant and hotels that are normally marked as free. So when you select the WIFI option on the camera, the screen goes blue with the SSID name and password of the camera, you then, with a smartphone and nextbase app, connect to the camera and then able to download clips from the camera to the phone directly, change settings even format the microSD card. So READ THE INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE MAKING VIDEOS AND STATING INCORRECT INFO.
@BobEarnshawMoHo5 жыл бұрын
So sorry, slip of the tongue, I knew it creates a WiFi hotspot. NO need to SHOUT at me!

If you actually listen properly you'll hear that I said hook to Wifi. That's not home Wifi. I also said I didn't think it was very good.

blurry image, you did take off the lens protector didn't you?

No, it's the GoPro that won't focus up close. I didn't show any footage for some reason, but it is pretty good.
