This is the most realistic car repair I've ever seen. I don't know how all these other youtubers are able to always super easily get off all the bolts and screws they need. Every single time I need to remove a bolt they are almost always stuck.

That was a brutal job to undertake with picking up the kids, cooking lunch, buying a new valve cover gasket and spark plug seals. Then continuing with the task to the finish. I thought this was a particularly difficult repair to do in your driveway! It’s one that’s beyond my skill level. I was quite tense watching the difficult sections. Well done!!

Hey man. A tip to make it a LOT easier next time, the instructions state to hold the cam with a wrench and loosen the bolt before you remove the cam from the motor. Then the cam caps will hold it all nice and tight for you and you can just bust it loose fairly easily. Worked beautifully for me. Thought I would let you know and save you a backache next time! Awesome video too!

Hey Angel, I see you are following the manufacturers approach. Have you seen some approaches where the cam is not removed from the engine? It looks like you can take off both the actuator and the second cam's gear and that gear is keyed. That approach seems easier than taking it out of the car and working on the floor, as you have the leverage of the engine holding the cam in place (no wobble) as you loosen the nut, but trade off is that you might not align the gears perfectly to the chain. Although you may be able to keep that position with the tie wraps. What are your thoughts on that approach? It seems innovative, but do you think it may cause harm to leave the cam in the engine and loosening the actuators bolt that way? Great video!

Because I like to share with people, here is a tip for removing/installing the spark plug seals. When removing the spark plug seals, use a bent-end pry bar, and romove from the inside instead. Place a balled up rag, piece of rubber or wood etc to the side of the hole where the shaft of the bar will potentially make contact to protect the surface. You could wrap the shaft with rubber tape also, etc. Seat the blade/end of the bar on the inside edge of the seal (find the lip or sweet spot. Do not pry up on the thin part that moves easily. There is a solid ring inside of the seal that the rubber is molded around. Prying up on the thing flap part will just make it tear.) and then apply a little bit of inward pressure on the inside edge of the seal and then downward pressure at the same time while trying your best to stabilize it. Don't go full force, try a little to see if the end slips. (Suprisingly it doesnt slip easy). Those b*tches will come right out with ease. And as long as you protect the surfaces in case of an ergonomic accident, you'll have those seals out in less than a minute, with no problems. When setting the new seals you Can use a socket or a piece of PVC pipe and a cut out, flat circle piece to lay over the seal that is just barelty smaller than the size of the hole. Tap it in patiently and evenly. As long as ypur arent tearing up or damaging the precisely machined that seals come in contact, anything goes. To each their own. The bent-end pry bar makes quiick work of those seals. No fuss 👍🏻

Great video Angel! Here's a tip for removing the spark plug seals, use a small pry bar and pry the spark plug seals off instead of punching it out with a punch. Way easier to remove with a small pry bar and your fingers don't cramp up, haha. Then when it comes to installing the spark plug seals, I''ll start by pushing them down with my thumb and then drive them home with a socket big enough to fit the outside of the seals. Hope this helps if you ever encounter them seals again in the future.
