My Dentist Office MESSED UP | Invisalign Update

Hey.. came across your channel in the last few days and have been seeing all your Invisalign videos! I have been to my first free consultation 2 weeks back, and this week, am gonna confirm to start the process so they can order my trays. Thank you for sharing your journey, i wish you good luck and you get 100 % satisfactory results. My orthodontist already said its gonna take 2 years for me.. so desperately waiting to get started and waiting to finish off with 100 % success! :)

I'm sure you are in good hands!! It seems like orthodontists are the way to go. They are the ones who really know it all when it comes to teeth movement and projecting that sort of thing. If I could do it over again, I would have gone to an ortho rather than a dentist. I wish you the absolute best on your journey!! It is so exciting to watch your own teeth transform over time. It will be 100% worth it!

Thank you for this update! I really can understand that you are verry dissapointed 😫 I have started my invisalign journey yesterday, I have 14 trays and then we will see (after 14trays i have still rights to have another 14trays in the price). So in my case it will be 3,5 months and im finish or 7 months. Im really enjoying your invisalign videos 🥰 I wish you a good luck and I really hope that the trays will come fast that you can continue your journey🙏🏼🙏🏼

I'm so sorry that you had that really frustrating experience! I'm on my 3 tray myself right now and can imagin how frustrating it must be! My Orthodontist told me that a dentist that takes impressions of your teeth the "old fashioned way" in 2021 is most likly not a experienced dentist with invisalign....why? Because , if a dentis has a lot of patients he definitly will invest in a 3D scanner for your impressions for invisalign. But thankfully Invisalign does most of the work, so you should be fine :) And I also got the "Invisalign Comprehensive" and I'll demand as much trays as needed until I'm 100 % satifired lol. But I get it...it's kind of scary speaking up to your dentist. I hope I won't have to do it in the future. But if I'm not satified I'll definilty speak up and get more trays....

Oh wow, I had no idea!! That makes a lot of sense actually. At this point, I wonder if I’d had a better experience going to an orthodontist rather than a dentist. It’s too late now, but I’m hoping that things are better from here on out. I really appreciate your encouragement! I’m definitely speaking up if things go wrong in the future. I’m getting my new trays this coming Monday and I made sure to request that the actual DENTIST be at my appointment rather than the hygienist who gave me inaccurate information last time. ANYWAY. When she said she was annoyed about taking the impressions cause it’s uncomfortable, I thought she was being over dramatic then she talked about the gel and since I’m about to start Invisalign soon I thought that was strange cause the orthodontist took 3D prints, I thought that would be enough At least you cleared that point for me xD

Wow , praying for you. I think after each appointment you should have them write out on a card what is your next tray number. I have a open bite and I am thinking about getting Invisalign once I get the money together. Yikes it’s so expensive but the results look fabulous. I have been looking at different You Tube videos. My Invisalign experience has been positive up until this point though and it’s been amazing to watch my teeth shift. So, I would still recommend it to anyone wanting to fix their teeth. Umm invisalign delivers the aligner sets in plastic packets where the total no of trays is clearly written. For example mine clearly says that this set is 1of14 or 2of14. You don’t even need to rely on the dentist for the total no of trays in your plan. It is clearly mentioned on the back of the packet.

All of mine said “x of 10” until after this appointment, then the rest said “x of 16”. I was always supposed to have 16 trays in total. So, it was definitely misleading. 🙂

Wow I have been in this type of situation before and it really sucks but please doe a favor and start emailing your dentist and asking the same questions so you legally have their words in writing

It happens all the time even with the traditional braces. It’s pretty normal to always extend the treatment. It’s frustrating. It’s ‘cause with these plastic aligners, we expect fast process for a short period of time. We depend on the 1st plan and on the aligners. Unlike with the traditional braces, we know it’s gonna take a while so we don’t really expect fast result. Even 20 sets of aligners are not enough for crooked teeth like mine 😩

Totally weird, my dr ordered all of my trays at once and kept some to ensure return for checkup. She didn’t order it on parts. It makes no sense because forgetting to order could be a problem. Just order all at once.

You should definitely ask for some money back or any type of financial compensation for them to have forgotten to order your trays and lengthen your treatment because of the waiting time. My dentist works with Invisilign but they order all the trays and I can leave the fitting appointment with all my trays (14). Also, after the 3D scan done at the consultation appointment the dentist/orthodontist send me the video of my 3D simulation results and i could ask for a different outcome if i want (a border smile or no interproximal reduction if I want to). It’s surprising that none of that was done at your dentist.

This is what I’ve heard from so many people and it’s honestly shocking how offices can get away with doing the bare minimum. They didn’t show me my 3D simulation until my second or third check up so I was already well into my journey. They didn’t give me the option to decide what my end result would look like and they didn’t send me my own copy of the 3D simulation, so I honestly don’t even remember what the final result will look like. At my most recent appointment (after this video was made) the dentist assured me that if I wasn’t happy with my teeth at the end then we would keep going until I was 100% satisfied. I really hope my teeth will turn out looking like I want them to. I guess we’ll see! Anyway, thank you so much for your comment and for sharing a bit about your experience. @@JessLotte well to ensure the best results (your teeth moving well) make sure to use the cheewy for 3min everytime you put your tray on. And to wear the trays 22h a day. Good luck on your journey too !

I am confused, you should be seeing an Orthodontist whose work you have seen not a dentist. When did dentists branch out into specializing in a field that they have not dedicated their education and life skills too? In my next life, I am going to be a plumber who goes to school for 6 weeks to learn to be a plastic surgeon. I can hear the dollar bills rolling in already.

It's funny how you mention that you had wished you said more to "Marsha", but you can't argue with stupid, lol. I also didn't like the fact how "Mary' just comes barging in asking who YOU were? That place sounds like it cares more about $$$ and not about customer service and how to make their patients feel welcomed. I'm so sorry that you've had to go through such hoops just to get the great service that you paid for! This is supposed to be a happy and awesome experience for you! I hope you bring these issues up with management so they can properly train their employees. I hope these next 6 trays will get you the results you want 😍💝

Thank you so much for your support! I couldn’t agree more. They really made me feel like my treatment/overall experience was not important to them. I can’t believe I’m paying thousands of dollars for things to have turned out this way. But good news: my next 6 trays came in so I have my next appointment this coming Monday. They scheduled me with the actual dentist this time around and I requested to never be seen again by the hygienist who messed things up last time. It seems like they KNOW they messed up and are trying to make it right. Fingers crossed! I SO appreciate your comment and encouragement. this made me so mad!! everything about this facility sounds a lil sketchy. Is this a regular dentist's office or is he an orthodontist? I know that regular dentists CAN get some sorta training to be able to offer aligners to people but that's not the ideal and the healthiest option is to get them done at an othodontist so that might be one of the problems. second of all, how come they didn't tell you right from the get go how many trays your treatment would be???? after planning the teeth my dentist contacted me and said alright this is how many trays, you change weekly, etc etc. i think they also messed up there lastly, i don't even live in the US and pretty much in the middle of nowhere lol. even HERE they offer 3d scans where they stick a camera in your mouth and scan your teeth in like 3 minutes without doing the whole gel procedure. what's going on at that office????!!

I am doing my treatment through a dentist office and I SO wish I would have gone the orthodontist route. This was such a preventable error. I have no idea how something like this happens and they seem so unapologetic. I’m so glad your treatment has been a much more positive, professional experience!! I’m in the middle of handling another mistake and I am making another video about soon. It’s been one thing after another with them, it’s crazy. I just started my Invisalign, I’ve been on my first tray for 6 days now and I never had x rays done only the 3D scan. I also never had a “clin check” ? I had the 3D scan done in my consultation but never came back to approve what Invisalign actually said they’d look like. I just came in to get my first two trays. And in the consultation with the 3D scan there was gabs and it just wasn’t perfectly straight but they said that it wasn’t going to look exactly like that and the only reason I went with it is bc I’ve seen everyone having perfect teeth after Invisalign so I just went ahead trusting Invisalign? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I had a similar experience! They did my impressions but didn’t show me the time lapse of what my teeth would actually look like until my second or third appointment. I think the experience really depends on the office you go to. I’ve watched some Invisalign videos where people have had an AMAZING experience and their dentist/ortho has been so thorough. @@JessLotte I’m so glad to hear I’m not alone. I definitely will continue watching your Invisalign videos! It makes me feel like I’m not completely alone with my dentist doing sketchy things lol. My treatment plan is only 7 months/ 14 trays. I thought it would take longer but I don’t have a bite problem, just a lot of crowding. I also was scared about them ending my treatment and me not being completely happy so my last appt I asked if I wasn’t happy would I be able to do refinements and the lady just told me not to worry about that and my teeth should be fine. 🤷🏻‍♀️ wasn’t very reassuring lol. But they only give me two trays that I wear for two weeks at a time then I have to go back to them which kinda makes me feel better know they’ll be seeing how my teeth are moving. But again I’m scared that I won’t be happy after all my trays are gone and if I ask for refinements they’ll basically say I don’t need them. Idk I’m scared of that. I don’t wanna have to fight my dentist after spending all this money 🤷🏻‍♀️

@@Ayra_Asmr that totally makes sense. I will have 16 trays total, which seems like such a small amount compared to a lot of the other KZbinrs I’ve watched. It’s hard not to worry given my most recent experience. But my dentist reassured me that if I wasn’t happy at the end they would continue to do refinements until I was happy. Hopefully that will be the case for you too! Or maybe we will get lucky and our teeth will be straight by the last tray. I guess we’ll see!
