This is why I just focus on 10-15 items/day listed/sold at $30+shipping or more. Average $25+ profit per item. I've been taking that money and putting into another business I've been working on. I want an ELF(easy lucritive & fun) business NOT a HALF(hard annoying lame & frustrating) business. reselling is a gateway for a better business, not a long term business in and of itself unless you want to work for someone else.

@lsgsrob2102Ай бұрын
@@jeremiah03101 totally agree but at the end of the day, you’re still working your butt off while making peanuts compared to hours worked. It’s not easy to scale a reselling business and although you can, their is way to much that can go wrong and that is a pain to keep track of. The business Im building now, is the complete opposite, still difficult but way less stressful and much easier to scale so that I can get my time back.
@jeremiah03101Ай бұрын
@lsgsrob2102 reselling isn't for everyone, I hit 100k this year next year I will be at 200k+. All I have to do is continue my daily routine. Which isn't much. I do this full time and I work less hours making more than double I did at my previous employer. The scalability is there, alot of people don't give it time to happen.

the other sad thing about ebay or other selling platforms is that they will not let you get passive income from them. their algorithm is explicit about that: if you are not going to give us all your time, you get nothing.

I sure fell into that. I wanted to stay small and just make some fun money. I learned quickly, to sell you have to list. To list you have to buy. To buy, you have no choice but to grow. I found myself working a full time job, with OT, and working on eBay just as much to try and "earn that sale". I have 1200 items, I'm on three platforms, and I may sell one item a day. Three or four on a good day. Now, I just work on eBay when I want to, which is still a few times a week, I scaled back on buying inventory, and I no longer sweat how much I sell. It was just getting to be an emotional drain. Good luck!

I'm constantly trying to find sources of income. Any suggestions for me? I don't have a social following and I am pretty busy with my job and family.
@TaylorExchangeАй бұрын
I hear you. My side incomes have gone the way of mowing lawns, cutting trees, donating plasma, doing handy man type jobs, reselling, and making content. It’s not glamorous but donating plasma is simple but does take about 1-2 hours.
@dunkdaveАй бұрын
@TaylorExchange Thanks for your help. Plasma is not my thing. I'm very much afraid of needles. I'm trying to find something I can mostly do online since I'm usually busy going to and from kids' sports. I have time while they are practicing, but I can only do things on my phone or laptop.

You need to continue listing or the algorythm WILL block traffic to you....Even if you only list 3 days/week, 30 items/week to keep the sales flowing until you get your inventory down to a level you are comfortable level. Good luck in your new business..
@TaylorExchangeАй бұрын
I have not listed in 70 days or so and I still have daily sales. I just reduce the price every couple weeks.

Sponsors and KZbin go hand in hand if you believe in the product. Otherwise you are selling out. Unsubscribed

I thought the Dallas area was great for sourcing at least from hearing in other channels. People like Cayle Elaine, Yumbo, and Caleb are all growing doing what they do while others constantly change, complain that it's hard, and go into the whatnot and all that and never get to the level of those 3 that keep doing what works and have long term vision. I wish you the best man. I enjoyed hearing your videos playing while working.
@TaylorExchangeАй бұрын
It's a great area but difficult to understand how much everyone is making from KZbin. I just found a way to make more money with less effort and time from my family.
@stardavis6618Ай бұрын
I think for someone like Caylie Elaine, a lot of her business is now coming from KZbin, affiliates, sponsorships and now her new reselling group. Also she no longer does the majority of her own sourcing. She still provides amazing information but I think it's good to keep in mind that she's not the average reseller anymore.
@TaylorExchangeАй бұрын
@@stardavis6618 Very good point.
@TyreliusTheThirdАй бұрын
Why not go into wholesale? Beats thrift running. All you’d have to do is just update a few listings over and over again eliminating a lot of work. 🤷🏾♂️

Not a bad idea. Just making a lot more money with less effort nowadays.

There were so many ways you could have continued and kept reselling on eBay. Theres other ways to get inventory than Trolling thrift stores. My biggest issue with you has an always be you are narrow minded and unwilling to consider any change! I'm Glad I don't have to keep you as a subscription anymore.

@@KnottyThrifts What a laughable comment. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out 👋

You are 100% correct, he made 0 changes to his business and failure to adapt is the sign of a bad businessperson
@KnottyThriftsАй бұрын
@@TaylorExchange so laughable people actually agree! 🤷♀️ 😂 you don’t need to spread this bad word and get others to give up like yourself. You don’t want to resell anymore PERIOD. Don’t make lame ass excuses that were things you could fix and make happen. You took no effort in finding another sourcing method! Am I wrong? You gave up because you weren’t willing to put the work in! Don’t flip it and try to make excuses for YOURSELF!

@@TaylorExchange guess what I get hundreds of items a week and I NEVER step foot in a thrift store!!! 🤣 🤣 🤣 but it’s not possible to do this unless you troll thrift stores rite! Why do I make 3k a month then 🤔. You’re encouraging people to quit like you cuz you’re a quitter!!

Its a great idea to have a house for the business and if you are really smart you finance the house and rent it out to your own business. a popular gardening channel is doing it this way.
@TaylorExchangeАй бұрын
Yes, as long as the house is used for business operations that is the way to do it. I plan to do that until I save up for another property then rent this house out and pay on the next business house.
@pnw-coastАй бұрын
@@TaylorExchange Have you already talked to a CPA about this idea? The reduced business income vs the additional personal income may not be worth the increased audit flag.
@TaylorExchangeАй бұрын
@@pnw-coast I have spoken with them. Audits are not a concern if you are doing business honest and above bar.

it's a shame your not closer I'd buy the shelves and a bunch of your clothes...I could do with more product and I'm about to double my space so need an extra 1000 or so good product to list..my death pile is down to under 300 pieces and goodwill think they are a boutique shop now with their pieces ($12 for jeans)...lol

Well come to Texas! Honestly buying up the leftover items from a eBay seller is not a great move. These items are nothing special or they would've sold by now...

@@TaylorExchange Sounds like a good plan. Hard to believe Thanksgiving is only like days away and Christmas is just a few weeks away. So, I’m sure that there’s others who you know through the reselling channels in KZbin for sure like Brian that may want in on some of your goodies as well - and you certainly have the privilege of deciding who might get first dibs.. just because I asked first doesn’t mean anything just wanna let you know I’m serious. Just bought five tubs of clothes from a guy for 400 he’s ecstatic I’m happy already doubled my money in three weeks. And still have hundreds of pieces to do things with. You know how it goes. But not just inventory I mean your hardware and stuff shelving etc. you invested a lot into all of that and I realize that you can probably repurpose a lot of it but dang I just bought like a couple hundred boxes oh maybe 150 of the 30x8x8 boxes (cause we’re finally moving to that inventory system, off-site, in our two storage lockers. Anyway, I don’t want to hold you up. Looking forward to hearing from you through my wife’s email, obviously at your convenience. Take care bro.
