This Bollywood-Restaurant ("Curry Lounge"?) in britain for example or "Classic American". The irish restaurant with the alcohol-liking-chef neither. 🙃 I got another pattern but also not happening in every episode - but more than crapcakes; The Owner or the Kitchenchef is mostly a Denial after Gordon's opinion. 😅

I would just like to point out there were no scenes with rotten food or unhealthy kitchen practices which tells me Chef Mike was just as clean and professional with the food and storage as he was with his attitude and time management. Definitely one of the best chefs on the show.

To be fair, I think it's half about the ego and half about the setup they do when filming. They DEFINITELY cause a lot of the chaos for show, at the very least sending in a horde of complaining customers for drama and sometimes it seems like they tamper with the restaurant itself. The humblest owners just roll with it to get his help but I think some of them get very flustered by this aspect so they lash out.

The creators of this show really came up with a winning formula- so brilliant that we are essentially watching the same episode over and over only with different characters and locations: restaurant in trouble reaches out to Gordon for help; owner believes the food is excellent; Gordon disgusted by the food; owner is combative and resstant to change; Gordon changes menu; restaurant redesigned and unveiled; relaunch night has issues initially but owner steps up and relaunch ends in success. ( Sometimes filthy kitchen and rotten food in fridges and dysfunctional family storylines thrown in).
