@@zshah9787 Are you fucking kidding me?? Have you never seen his series calling Boiling Point which was done in 1999? He then did Beyond Boiling Point not long after. He treated his staff awfully, gave them loads of verbal abuse and even misled people who paid him £5k to promote their apples to then never use their apples in the demonstration dish, and openly bragged about how he misled them, making the company look like a joke. Everybody has the right to redeem themselves and certainly for TV's sake he certainly showed growth. However, he was not always the hero, which is the point of your argument. So if you choose to ignore that Boiling Point and Beyond Boiling Point exist, that's up to you, but the proof is there for all to see. He was just as bad as Marco Pierre White!

It is always funny when Ramsay says the food is bland and their response is "He's British, what does he know about x food?" If you put aside the fact that he's Scottish and is a Michelin star chef, if a British person tells you the food is bland, it is probably tastes like water!

The whole “British people have bad food” stereotype is not true at all and was born out of the fact that the country had to ration food during and after WW2 which meant people ate for survival not pleasure. Modern Britain now has some of the best restaurants in the world and the nations favourite dish is Indian curry (hardly a bland food). So basically it’s just a small minded American viewpoint, especially considering the quality of lots of the food in the US is poor at best.

I am unironically learning so much from Gordon about how to handle humans. This episode: The princess who can't admit to herself that she was not able to live up to her own standards she put on herself by being the daughter of a successful father she looks up to. Gordon's method: Don't back off when she lashes out, that's just her defense mechanism. Show her that you care. Let her fail miserably. Pressure her into admitting her failure. She needs to realize and admit her failings to herself. Because that's what she was carrying around for god knows how many years. Once that huge self-protecting barrier is gone, she can finally start growing up from being that little girl that wants to be just like her father to a woman that is starting to stand on her own feet. I don't need psychology classes, all I need are these Kitchen Nightmare episodes, man.

Incase anybody wants to know if it’s open: Gordon revisited the restaurant in a revisited episode and Anna Vincenzo's was closed. Gordon met up with the server Ashton who reported that the owner went back to her old ways. Cece raised the prices and made the portions smaller. In the revisited episode, Gordon visited CeCe at home and she said she sold Anna Vincezo's to focus on her family. Gordon commented on Cece’s weight loss, which she puts down to stress. Anna Vincenzo's closed in April 2010. Cece and Michael were separated and were living separately. The few Yelp reviews after the filming are mostly positive before it shut down.

After the episode, CeCe continued to follow his advice. She kept the smaller menu and buys fresh ingredients and was hopeful for the future. Gordon revisits in a revisited episode and Anna Vincenzo's is closed. Gordon talks to server Ashton who reports that she went back to her old ways. Cece raised the prices and made the portions smaller. Gordon visits CeCe at home and she says it was time to sell Anna Vincezo's to focus on her family. Gordon comments on how different she looks and Cece shows off her weight loss, that she puts down to stress. Anna Vincenzo's closed in April 2010. She sold the restaurant so that she could spend more time with her children. Cece and Michael had separated and were living separately. The few Yelp reviews after the filming are mostly positive. In Anna Vincenzo's place Nino's of Boca II has opened, the East Side restaurant of Ninas on the West Side and Yelp reviews are average.

I swear she is a 14 year old. Legitimately. Even the way she was crying is the way a child would whine when they're mad at their parents. And then quickly sticking out her tongue at him when the Caesar salad and salsa were fresh. Girl, that is not something to feel proud about.

One of the recurring issues with these restaurants is the size of their menu. When I first learnt to cook, I would cook 16 dishes in rotation for years so I got really good at those 16 dishes. Anything outside, I was bad. Anyone I cooked one of those 16 dishes always loved them. I thought if I had a restaurant out of these 16 dishes I bet it's be success. But my initial idea was restaurants need big menus. I see that Gordon focuses on chefs perfecting a few dishes than serve 100 mediocre ones. That's how you keep customers coming

Exactly. As a customer, I tend to associate one grand dish to all my fav restaurants, and that's all I want from them. Doesn't matter if they have 10 dishes or 100

That, and also cost-effectiveness I'd reckon. It's more economical to have a small, focused menu (like Ramsay tried to revamp Sebastian's into a good-quality pizzeria instead of... The Concept) with fewer, often-used key ingredients nstead of having to keep a fridge full of beef, chicken, duck, salmon, calamari, prawns etc. the half of which end up sitting there long enough to expire.

One year after the relaunch, Gordon revisits Anna Vincenzo's, Boca Raton and it is closed. Gordon talks to server Ashton, who tells Gordon that CeCe went back to her old way. Ashton tells that portion size was reduced and prices were increased. Gordon visits CeCe at her home, she has lost a lot of weight and looks fantastic. CeCe tells Gordon that she closed the restaurant and sold it so that she can spend more time with her children. CeCe and Michael have separated.

Holy fuck, I've always felt that CeCe and Michael just don't fit together. CeCe is one textbook example of narc restaurant owners who undertook Gordon's help just for popularity. I hope the kiddo is with his dad: it's my personal experience that an overt narc mother is the worst thing one can encounter and deal with from the git-go of their life.

Yeah, I don't think her or her dad were bad people. I do think she was naive to open and run a restaurant, and she's definitely a diva. A lot of these people though are under immense stress when they meet him because their business is failing, and usually their business is their whole life. It's difficult to deal with your own repeated, extended failure, and then to be told you are the problem after you tried so hard, it's really not easy to hear - especially if things used to be good.
