I am unironically learning so much from Gordon about how to handle humans. This episode: The princess who can't admit to herself that she was not able to live up to her own standards she put on herself by being the daughter of a successful father she looks up to. Gordon's method: Don't back off when she lashes out, that's just her defense mechanism. Show her that you care. Let her fail miserably. Pressure her into admitting her failure. She needs to realize and admit her failings to herself. Because that's what she was carrying around for god knows how many years. Once that huge self-protecting barrier is gone, she can finally start growing up from being that little girl that wants to be just like her father to a woman that is starting to stand on her own feet. I don't need psychology classes, all I need are these Kitchen Nightmare episodes, man.

The whole “British people have bad food” stereotype is not true at all and was born out of the fact that the country had to ration food during and after WW2 which meant people ate for survival not pleasure. There a lot of delusional people on this show but most of the time, when it's too far, Gordon always threaten to leave and then they realized their mistakes and call him back and want to change. But, in Amy's Baking Company episode, Amy clearly said: "WE DON'T NEED YOU!" To Gordon and Gordon also see that both of them are totally out of control by asking their customers to go away and being so defensive. Holy fuck, I've always felt that CeCe and Michael just don't fit together. CeCe is one textbook example of narc restaurant owners who undertook Gordon's help just for popularity. I hope the kiddo is with his dad: it's my personal experience that an overt narc mother is the worst thing one can encounter and deal with from the git-go of their life.

It's good she closed, if you don't respect people and the food you serve them you have no business running a restaurant.

The "who's everybody" bit is probably one of Gordon Ramsay's best reality checks ever. Its blunt, yet straight to the point, and just an eyeopener.

Why does almost every chef in this series expect Gordon to love their food and NOT criticize? That's precisely how the story arc of every episode begins.
