My favorite Christmas albums come from Japan! Talking Eddie Higgins Trio “Christmas Songs” 1 & 2

Christmas is a musical genre all its own, and one of my favorites incidentally. It turns out getting a hold of physical copies of my all time favorite Christmas albums led me to Japan, where the American jazz group The Eddie Higgins Trio found its success and its wonderful holiday albums Christmas Songs (1&2). For my money, there’s no better Christmas albums for any holiday situation, and I hold Vince Guaraldi’s Charlie Brown Christmas in the absolute highest regard. These are absolutely wonderful Christmas albums. Beautiful, mellow, soulful instrumental jazz tunes that just set my mood for the Christmas season. Well worth seeking out either on CD, vinyl or digital - though the vinyl issues are not the complete albums.
