Scott Pilgrim VS The Word was original a comic from 2004 to 2010. Then they made a video game and the live action movie that you mentioner later in the same year the comic book series ended.

Scott pilgrim is a 6 volume manga esque comic and the movie adapts them all into one big story. The movie is actually my favorite movie of all time and since I live in the same city as the story takes place, it's got quite the personal connection. The episode seems to base a bit more of the comic/manga's story and uses the looks and sprites from Ramona from the scott pilgrim video game which is also much more based on the source material. There we go, nothing too spoilery and a good explanation of why Ramona looks different then you remember. It's a solid episode from what I remember, so enjoy it!

8:15 Just your standard “the bad guy wasn’t actually dead” situation. Though in Geese’s case it’s justified since he possessed a magic scroll called the Phoenix Scroll that gives immortality. Except Geese only had 1 out of the set of 3 so instead of full immortality he was “merely” really durable and heals good. Fatal Fury stood head and shoulders above the rest of the fighting games of its time for having a really robust and cinematic story, instead of just a couple end cards designed to give an excuse for people to beat each other up. 9:55 “have we seen this?” My friend, welcome to the Blue Apron era of Death Battle. You’d best get used to it, because for the next several dozen episodes you’re gonna see the same 2-3 Blue Apron ads over and over and over and over and over… 14:00 The movie is an adaptation of the graphic novel series, so Scott Pilgrim was a comic first. That’s what Ramona’s design is in that thumbnail. Man, I love this one for so many reasons. My favorite Street Fighter versus my favorite fighting game character ever. And yeah, Terry is an absolute MONSTER in combat, and is 90% self taught! That’s why so many of his moves are based on things like breakdancing and basketball (for example, the Power Dunk he used to finish off Ken in this fight). My only complaint with this battle is the way they ended it, with Ken being exhausted and Terry just murdering him in cold blood. They could really have played up Ken’s desire to never back down and Terry’s tenacity that gave him the nickname the Legendary Hungry Wolf, by having them both exhausted at the end and Ken’s death resulting from neither being willing to back down. That would’ve been an amazing ending and awesome character personality shining through. But still in my top ten either way. Love this battle. And next one is one of the absolute most one sided in DB history.

my favorite Fatal Fury character is Rock Howard (if he counts) and my favorite KOF character is K' (who pretty much awakened my bisexuality at a very young age). but yeah, the ending of this fight was so weird and abrupt. And it honestly would have been better if Death Battle didn't require a character to kill their opponent, because it betrays the purpose of characters like Aang (who even spared Fire Lord Ozai) and Terry (who rushed to save Geese Howard from falling to his death).

By the way, if you are asking what people mean by part, they mean the arc, not season cause for parts 1-3 theres some unique things when they were making the anime for it, part 1 and 2 are combined into 1, 26 episode season since they are the shortest parts, and part 3 is the longest anime part so it has 2, 24 episode seasons meaning in total part 3 has 48 episodes, however this varies in certain streaming services So in total Part 1- 9 episodes Part 2- 17 episodes Part 3- 48 episodes Part 4- 39 episodes Part 5- 39 episodes Parts 6-8 have not been animated yet but part 6 will this year

Can confirm that Death Battle matches are only between the opponents, no outside help. Characters who possess powerful abilities when allied with others aren't able to use those abilities unless the lore specifically says they have a way of doing so solo

So the rules of Deathbattle have changed over the years as have the way they analyze the characters, they have done some rematches to see if the outcome changes and often it does. They recently mentioned on their podcast that if Yang vs Tifa was redone it would be a curb stomp the opposite way under new rules

You really should watch JoJo after My Hero, the copyright rules should be the same, Although just to warn you, in the Subtitles of most platforms, and Dub of the show, you see the creator of the manga decided to have many names be references to music, however im the dub and platforms like hulu or crunchyroll they had to change the names of some things, but im sure the comments will point out the correct names
