I meant that the rest of Vinland Saga outside of the Baltic War arc, which I consider to be the weakest in the series but still not bad, is phenomenal. That single arc is my only gripe with the series as a whole. Also, which return home are you talking about? The one where Thorfinn initially comes back to Iceland after his time as a slave or the one in the most recent chapter where he returns after 2 years?

"Everything's Eventual" is a great collection of short stories. The titular story is a great, slowly-building suspense story about getting everything you wish for, "Lunch at the Gotham Cafe" is a sharp shock of madcap violence, "The Man in the Black Suit" reads like an old school piece of Americana Folklore and you even get to dip a toe into The Dark Tower series with "The Little Sisters of Eluria". But "Riding the Bullet" legitimately haunted me. There was a movie adaptation that wasn't great, but the short story really, genuinely unsettled me for a long time afterwards.

If you haven't read the manga, I'd highly recommend it. The anime's fight choreography is great, but it cuts out a lot of surprisingly kino moment of the fighters just being bros with each other. Plus, the omakes are hilarious.

when i first read Vinland Saga, all I knew about it was people talking about the fights and stuff. Then I got into it and the way it plays out and what it turns into once Thorfinn is an adult is amazing. Then I saw the same writer did Planetes and it all made sense.

For those wondering, Danberu and Kengan Ashura do share the same universe. There are even hints of a larger world in Danberu, characters crossing over for cameos, etc. Heck, the main character of Sandrovich's indie manga, Fist of the Seeker, is an important mentor-figure in Kengan Omega, the sequel to Kengan Ashura.

First of all, thanks for the vid, love your fav things vids, but especially the fall ones. Secondly, as somebody who seems to have an undying appreciation of new experiences, I thought you might appreciate a form of horror I only encountered recently. Theatre? Yeah so I'm in my school production of Dracula, the stage play. I must say, there have been some genuinely terrifying moments rehearsing it. Specifically there are two moments that made everyone involved feel disgustingly horrified. The first was an exercise we did where all the actors would play the same character, so the actor who actually played that character would feel less awkward during they're more "intense" scenes. The first one we did was mine, Renfield. Our director gave us different tasks as Renfield, with many of them being movement based. Here I challenged myself to move even more erratic and gross then Renfield actually would, and freaked out everyone in the room. I started out doing odd contorted movements, and further one raising my movement speed to where I was running on all fours, and finally moving around the room as fast as I could backwards using only my arms, using my socks and the carpet to mitigate any friction. The second moment was when everyone had to act out a scene where they were being killed/seduced? by Dracula himself. The best I can describe this exercise was the closest I've ever been to not only being raped, but watching somebody else being raped from a few feet away. Afterwards the actor playing Dracula was disgusted and horrified with himself. My point is, a high school production of Dracula might not be revolutionary in the horror department, I think theatre has the potential to be the highest form of horror due to how close it brings you to it. Just a thought.
